Lucasfilm has unveiled a trailer and three clips from the upcoming "Star Wars Detours," a new animated TV series that's a comedic take on the "Star Wars" franchise. Check everything out below.

"Star Wars Detours" explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, "Star Wars Detours" focuses on the universe's regular folks and their everyday problems... which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith.

The TV series is from "Robot Chicken" creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich, and director Todd Grimes. A premiere date has yet to be set.

@Ranger
Actually Lucas has (apparently) go hipster and retired to go make short films in his garage. But I'm sure he still acceptS the royalty checks.

And my childhood goes on getting raped.

The one with Leia was actually pretty humorous but I'm having a hard time getting a sense of this show. If it's nothing but a Robot Chicken/Family Guy stream of jokes, it'll tank. If there's actually some story and central plots, it MIGHT be watchable.

So basically a for-profit standalone spin-off of 'Robot Chicken' Star Wars parodies.

Great.

@Zero - let's make no mistake... George picks up every dime of his royalties... lol.

@Dark - sure we have a sense of humor. We let you live, don't we?

@badchad
Ugh. I f*cking hate when people say "their childhood is raped" because of another money grab from a mediocre franchise. Do people say the same thing when people write fan fiction, make non canon games or comics and dress up terribly at comic conventions?
Look at the first three films and forget that there was anything else that ties into the series.
