Bill Murray Says "Ghostbusters 3" Script is TerriblePosted: June 10th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
There have been big plans to bring back the entire "Ghostbusters" cast for a third installment. There's already a script, most of the cast is on board, but we still don't have a movie. And that's because Bill Murray is refusing to take part in it, sometimes even ignoring phone calls from Dan Aykroyd.
This prompted Aykroyd to consider killing off Murray in the first few minutes of the film or possibly replacing him. Now, during a chat with David Letterman, Murray explained that he doesn't want to take part in a sequel that may turn out to be as bad as "Ghostbusters 2."
"They just don't have a really good script," he said. "It's hard. The second 'Ghostbusters' wasn't as much fun for me as the first one. It's hard to make a sequel. That first one was really funny. It was just so darn funny. It's hard for me."
Murray went on to say that he's not giving up on the third film and that a rewrite may fix all the issues with the script. "We'll try again," he said.

Wow.. Bill Murray NEVER said the script was terrible. Way to make Bill Murray look like an *sshole. Bill Murray's reason for not attaching himself to the film is reasonable.

This should have been made in the nineties, not now. I don't think Murray has the verve as he once had with the 1st Gostbusters. He's come to an age where he knows he's more funny in films like Lost in Translation or Broken Flowers than to be part of an outdated sequel.

Murray knows he doesn't need this, whereas Akroyd is desperate for some sort of relevance again.

Bill Murray Says "Ghostbusters 3" Script is Terrible ... no sh*t.
Dan Ackroyd needs to take up golf and quit f*cking up franchises. He already did it with The Blues Brothers ... fat f*cking, talentless hack.

This is actually good news. Murray inn a quality controll self critisism mode may turn out to make Ghostbuster 3 great.

I say GB3 could be fun, but only if they pass the torch...Bringing Rick Moranis back will be a bitch though, hopefully he'll accept.
But yes, Akroyd plot sensibilities as a writer are pretty outdated if you ask me...
As for who would get the torch, I'm thinking from a pool of Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Audrey Plaza, Kristen Wiig, Jeremy Piven, Sean Austin, Dedrich Bader, Aziz Asnari...etc. Good actors eouldn't do it, you need good, funny improv as well.
I personally think Robert Zemeckis could co-write with Bob Gale & direct this...I'd catch that.

Uhh.. who made up this story? He never said it was terrible. He didn't even say it was bad. You have misquoted him. He DID NOT say "They just don't have a really good script".
At least make an attempt at reporting real news and not just making things up. Very unprofessional.

Bill Murray, focus on more cameos in sh*tty zombie movies. It's better than starring in this piece of f*cking buffalo sh*t.
