"Total Recall" Viral Marketing Posters

Posted: June 10th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Total Recall Viral Marketing PostersSubmit Comment
The upcoming "Total Recall" remake lends itself perfectly to viral marketing, which is why posters promising to make your fantasies come true are popping up in Hollywood, California.

The posters show that the Rekall company can make you a champion MMA fighter or a celebrity. The web address on them (WelcomeToRekall.com) takes you to a viral site where you can enter your phone number and receive a pre-recorded message about your "vacation package."

The new movie is directed by Len Wiseman, stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy, and is set to hit theaters on August 3rd.

A total remake from Len Wiseman, the guy who did the Underworld movies? It looks like science fiction is going to be raped yet again before the summer is even over...

As if Prometheus wasn't a big enough of a disappointment already.

Where's the ad that shows you as the snuff film director directing Lindsay Lohan in her last film, starring her, a pen full of wild boars, cocaine feuled Samoan dwarf wrestlers, HIV infected bisexual pedopheliac clowns and a horse with ricketts?

Bad posters.

Seriously, has Hollywood really that run out of ideas?

Instead of making video game movie adaptions, Hollywood decides to remake the people's classic 80's movies.

First Conan and now this, what's next?

A remake of The Goonies or E.T.

Can someone name a good remake that Hollywood has ever made?

^ there are good remakes

The Bourne Identity (though may be regarded as another adaptation of the novel, not remake of the earlier film)

The Thing

Dawn of the Dead

Scarface

Man on Fire

3:10 to Yuma

Ocean's Eleven

The Departed

12 monkeys (probably)

True Grit

Kurskij, those movies are good but I am talking about 80's classic movies.

Has Hollywood ever made a great remake of 80's classic movie which is better than the original movie.

dont even call the departed a good movie
Kurskij writes:

@bando

It's a good movie, the problem being that it's almost a shot-for-shot (down to the framing of certain scenes) remake of superior Internal Affairs.

@nawtnt

Only Fright Night comes to mind - good remake of a good movie.

The problem with remaking 80's movies is that they have this very distinctive 80's feel to them - special effects, music, mullets; so remaking means complete reimagining and Hwood is really bad at doing it right.

Plus some of the best 80's movie had some of the most charismatic stars ever headlining them . Scwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis, Russell etc.

Also 80's weren't that long ago, so very few movies actually need to be remade.

"Cocaine fueled samoan dwarf wrestlers"
was just bought by Michael Bay and will not have any real dwarfs.

Does Rekall take left nuts as collateral?
I'd like to be Jessica Biels sybian because Timberlake couldnt satisfy her if his name was Snickers

"we'll make it real"

It isn't real if it's just a memory. That was the pretentious problem with d*ck. He thought if you possessed a 'memory' of some event, it made the event 'real', forgetting that people have dreams all the time that aren't grounded in reality.

Oh, and the posters looks like sh*t, but that goes without saying on this one.
