Did Fox Accidentally Reveal Plot for "X-Men" Sequel?

Did Fox Accidentally Reveal Plot for "X-Men" Sequel?Submit Comment
AICN noticed that 20th Century Fox registered the phrase "Days of Future Past" with the MPAA with the intent to use it as a title for a future movie. Comic book fans know that the phrase is actually the name of a two-issue story arc from the "X-Men" comics published back in 1981.

In "Days of Future Past," Kitty Pryde from the future transfers her mind to Kitty Pryde of today in order to warn the X-Men that the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly by the Brotherhood will set off a chain of events leading to a future ran by Sentinels where all mutant are put in internment camps.

It's tough to say which movie will use the "Days of Future Past" story. We know that the upcoming "X-Men: First Class" sequel, set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014, will heavily focus on Magneto and will bring back Mystique. And since "Days of Future Past" focuses more on Kitty Pryde and Wolverine, many believe that this is for "X-Men 4," which may actually be both a sequel and reboot by not touching the original trilogy.

Damned shame they had to take the entire franchise back decades just to escape the travesty of X-Men 3.

Eh...if done right it could be good. But I doubt it will be.

After five X-Men films the best one has been tolerable at best. I'm beginning to think we will never truly see a great X-Men film in our lifetime.

So will they get Ellen Page to be Kitty pride again?

I saw this back to the past thing coming as well. I mean, how else would Fox escape part 3's f*ck up. Anyway, all this is just too early...Hopefully the suits learned something from FIRST CLASS.

Most importantly, the million(s) dollar question is, who will helm it? Place your bet boys...

I'm be playing the odd's favorite-- Singer...the JACK THE GIANT KILLER should've already be out & really neither the X-Men franchise hasn't been done justice without him and Singer himself hasn't found his blockbuster since X-M2 . Plus this new chapter would start a new trilogy...

Just spit ballin' here but wouldn't it be wicked if this time travelling plot would involve before going back in time to the original X-Men, maybe they could plot they overshoot & go earlier & meet the FIRST CLASS cast, basically getting a type of crossover from the two X-Men versions in one movie...

Kinda the reverse of FIRST CLASS did in tipping the hat to the original with the older Mystique & Jackman's Wolverine cameos...that'd be sweeeeet.

those fans should know that it's Fox we are talking about and by the end of the day there might be no stone left unturned on the ruins of the original comic book story with only a basic plot left from it. So it's to early to make any kinds of predictions.

X-Men 4 would be cool, since they teased at a sequel before and after the credits of X3. I didn't think X3 was terrible, they just made a lot of mutants I really like sh*tty and unappreciated.

Holy sh*t.

I used to have about 50+ copies of that comic.

Where does the time go?!?!
KillerCOck writes:

they're gonna f*ck this up horribly and If they do reboot, they need to f*cking recast Jackman already and fix that mistake. Keep Singer as producer only and far away from directing. He makes terrible decisions as a director and Vaughn did great when you consider the time he had even if his final product was far from great, it was a step in the right direction.

They should focus on fine tuning more than anything.

Would almost have to be a reboot since Senator Kelly died in the first X-Men movie.

Forget this. Just make Doctor Strange movie already, and make it as weird as f*cking possible.

Meanwhile, DC needs to crank out a totally rad Swamp Thing movie. And make it R-rated, like a horror comic.

I heard it too but rumors also say it could be the Deadpool movie instead of X-Men. With Cable and Deadpool instead of Wolverine and Kitty

That's because he's a straight up pimp - ugliest dude alive and yet he somehow manages to f*ck Adrian Barbeau, while giving the world Snake Plissken.

John Carpenter = heroic

Okay, let's get this straight.

Imagine X-Men: The Last Stand didn't happen since some fans don't really like that movie.

Make X-Men: First Class 2 ingore the whole first X-Men movie series.

I mean if the writers can bring back Emma Frost despite her being in X-Men Origins: Wolverine then why can't Fox reboot the whole movie series and conitune with X-Men: First Class.

I have to be honset that Marvel would had done a better job than Fox.

It would been awesome if Wolverine joined Captain America and The Avengers.

X-Men 4 a sequel and a reboot? f*ck does that mean? So no Cyclops?
Mr. Blonde writes:

Despite the f*ck up that was X3 Last Stand, I recall the opening sequence involved the Danger Room and the X-Men fighting a Sentinel. Colossus even did a fast ball special and threw Wolverine at the Sentinel which led to its take down. I understood that was a reference to Days of Future Past. Just hope they don't give the helm back to Brett Ratner (f*cker almost buried the franchise).
