Mads Mikkelsen is Hannibal Lecter in "Hannibal" TV SeriesSubmit Comment
NBC recently announced that Hugh Dancy will play Will Graham in the upcoming "Hannibal" TV series, which will revolve around the criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI and enlists Dr Hannibal Lecter's help with the case.

THR is now reporting that the network has found an actor to play Hannibal, and it's Mads Mikkelsen, who is best known for playing the villain in "Casino Royale" and is now set to play the villain in "Thor 2."

The new series is created by Bryan Fuller, the creator of "Pushing Daisies." NBC has already ordered the first thirteen episodes.

Intriuging choice, and not one I would have expected. He's a pretty fantastic actor, and can be very intense. It'll be interesting to see him take on the character.

He's playing a cannibal and his first name is really MADS?

Awesome!

Inspiring selection and I will definitely watch it because of the casting. Mads was an amazing Bond villain. And I cringed at his torture scene inflicted on Bond - that sequence alone elevated the Bond franchise into something no one has ever seen nor expected. Mads intensity as an actor will hopefully be demonstrated in the Hannibal series. Also think he is a great choice for Thor 2 villain. The guy is obviously typecasted to be the bad guy for the rest of his life. But at least the acting roles he is landing are the best.

Mads is a pretty decent actor who needs to be in more movies.

NBC didnt put anything into Heroes or Awake
They put all their resources into their sitcoms

NBC will dump it on another network
Unlike that show "Elementary" which will only hit in China where itll be known as The Kato Show

Bad ass choice!!!!! Excellent interpretation of LeChiffre in Casino and I know he will be a terrific Cannibal. Unfortunately, I'm busy with another TV series and having a sixth one on the bag, it would be to heavy to old it!!!!!

Solid choice with Mads, but the project with live or die by the writing...which I doubt with Hollywoods known fame for originality (end sarcasm here) will be able to deliver.

I think this mistake was already done by the latest origin story of HANNIBAL RISING.

H. Lecter is just better if you know the least about him or his origin and have fun in the fact of how he could and would manipulate everyone with his superior intellect to wreak havoc with his madness...which has already been covered (of what needed to be covered) by MANHUNTER, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, and RED DRAGON.

They should have cast Michael Emerson. He's the perfect choice for Hannibal Lecter if Anthony Hopkins isn't available.
