"Scream" to Become a TV Series on MTV

Scream to Become a TV Series on MTVSubmit Comment
Lots of popular movies are currently being turned into TV series, including "Silence of the Lambs" and "The Expendables." And now comes word that MTV is developing "Scream" for the small screen.

The new show will air weekly and will be based on the "Scream" franchise that has grossed $500 million globally. The network is currently searching for writers. It's unclear if Kevin Williamson or Wes Craven will be involved.

"Scream 4" hit theaters last year, but ended up grossing only $38 million domestically on a $48 million budget. Globally, the film took in $98 million, but apparently it wasn't enough to get a fifth installment. This is probably why the franchise will continue as a TV series.

Well then, this seems like the perfect time to continue not watching MTV.

If you're in your prime to get laid & you still watch MTV, you clearly have a serious problem...

Ugh, it will probably air on CW, as well.

They tried to do a slasher tv-series, like two years ago, Harper's Island. It started out fine, but ended quite sh*ttingly. This will probably do the same.

Hmm, didn't read that it was supposed to be on MTV. Not that it helps.

I don't know why it did so poorly, I actually kinda liked it, but they should just leave the franchise alone for a long while.

MTV? LMAO. Didn't even know that lame channel still existed. And dumping Scream to television where it can die? No surprise. The entire series died years ago and the fourth film, the FINAL film, is all the evidence you need to know the series has nothing left to give which is why it's being recycled into MTV fodder for the five morons still watching.

No one watches MTV and no one cares about the Scream films

Seems like a perfect partnership
