Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro to Star in "Grudge Match" Boxing Movie

Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro to Star in "Grudge Match" Boxing MovieSubmit Comment
Two years ago, we learned that Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro were looking to re-unite for "Grudge Match," a film that's similar in to "Space Cowboys." And now comes word that Warner Bros is moving forward with the movie, which may go in front of cameras early next year.

"Grudge Match" revolves around retired boxers Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp, lifelong bitter rivals who are coaxed out of retirement and into the ring for one final grudge match -- 50 years after their last title fight.

Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil) was previously in talks to direct, but will now only produce. Instead, Peter Segal has been brought on to helm. "Entourage" creator Doug Ellin wrote the most recent draft of the script.

Stallone and De Niro starred together in James Mangold's 1997 "Copland," and both actors are known for their boxing movies, which are "Rocky" and "Raging Bull."

More old guys fighting. Old hollywood desperately clinging on to the fading stardom.

It's official: De Niro is getting senile.

Stallone and DeNiro teaming up? That could be something great.

Still come on, two old guys fighting in a boxing match? Seriously.

^maybe it was an intense middle school street fight complete with the typical crowd at 3:00

Rocky meets Raging bull. Doesn't sound good to me.

Copland was crap and this idea is even worse. De Niro makes very poor choices lately and it looks to me that he's desperate for some easy money while everybody knows he's capable of much better. Shame, big shame.

Rocky 7: Raging Bullsh*t.

Bullit you didnt like Copland Really?thought that movie was great.Sly plays a fat washed up cop.I call that movie Wopland cause most actors were mostly EYETALIAN and they talk funny.
Bullit writes:

@Bando: No, I didn't like it because I was expecting an action movie with 2 great actors at the time and instead we got a slow boring flick. You're right, a confrontation between 2 waps could have been epic...

Nah bro copland was to prove that Stallone could do drama.he gained weight on purpose so he wouldnt be stereotyped as a beefed up action star.and his career wasn't looking too good back then.

So yea if you expected an action movie,I understand why you would be let down.but still great ensemble cast from Harvey,Deniro, liotta,Robert Patrick and others.

This must be a comedy/farce because the only way this would be believable is if they were rival arcade players recreating the Championship rivalry of playing Punch Out!

To riff on Ranger (btw, Ranger... glad your back, man!)

Hey Sly and Bobby,

Did y'all not learn from Stop, or My Mom will Shoot and Rocky and Bullwinkle ?

Obviously not, you gobknobbers.
