"Transformers 3" Extra Gets $18.5 Million Settlement

"Transformers 3" Extra Gets $18.5 Million SettlementSubmit Comment
During development of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," 26-year-old Gabriella Cedillo war struck in the head by a cable that broke loose during a stunt. The woman suffered severe head trauma and ended up in the hospital in critical condition.

To get an idea of how serious Cedillo's injuries were, here is a report from at the time of the accident: "Cedillo was in her own 2006 Toyota. The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle. The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull."

Cedillo's lawyers said that Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks promised to take care of all the bills for her medical care. But "in reality, they did everything they could to avoid payment. Gabriela was forced onto public aid to pay for her medical bills."

But now a settlement has been reached and the studios will pay $18.5 million to the woman, who the lawyers say has been left permanently brain-impaired. "Transformers 3" grossed $1.12 billion in theaters.

Well, we'll all know what half a brain is worth. 18.something million.

"Gabriela was forced onto public aid to pay for her medical bills."

Hmmmm. I wonder if she has el verde cardo.

"who the lawyers say has been left permanently brain-impaired. "

Bet the lawyers are no longer wallet-impaired.

"The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull."

I sympathize for her but there's a lesson from this accident; That's what you'll get for wanting to be in a crap movie.

The sad sh*t is no matter how much money they throw at her she won't be able to truly enjoy it since they made her a vegetable. Remind me to only be an extra in dramas and comedies.

To the despicable human being responsible for this decison: burn in Hell!

"Transformers 3" grossed $1.12 billion in theaters"

And that adds insult to injury! Bastards!

Very sad news.

Serves them right... That poor girl's life is ruined and they wouldn't even pay her medical bills?!?
DeVries writes:

f*cking *ssholes Paramount and Dreamworks should have take care of it at the very beginning. They can give f*ckint 50M$ to a c*nt like Michael Bay but don't give a sh*t to pay the bills of a critical injured person, all because of them. f*ck you f*cking Hollywood, again and again.

'Studio settled because shes not gonna know if shes getting tens or ones' --- LOL.

So this girl is to receive $18.5 mil OR her lawyers will (rhetorical)?
