Robert Pattinson May Join "The Hunger Games" SequelSubmit Comment
Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games" is set to hit stores on DVD and Blu-ray on August 18th, and the sequel, called "Catching Fire," is currently in development. And according to ThinkMcFlyThink, Lionsgate is interested in casting Robert Pattinson for the second installment.

Pattinson has a relationship with Lionsgate, since the studio owns "The Twilight" franchise. And "Catching Fire" director is Francis Lawrence, who the actor recently worked with on "Water for Elephants."

If cast, Pattinson would play Finnick Odair, who was one of the competition's youngest champions, at fourteen, having won the 65th annual Hunger Games for District 4. In "Catching Fire," he's in his mid-twenties and joins the Third Quarter Quell, a Hunger Games competition consisting of former winners. Odair is described as a ladies man.

"Odair is described as a ladies' man".

They must have misread the casting callsheet, since they're casting a lady-man instead.

mink have you even given the series a chance? its actually a really good movie... And i actually think he would fit the role..

Tanman - Yes, it is a good movie, and no, Mink will never give it a chance. But I don't think Pattinson would be good for that role. They need somebody unknown to play the part, much like all the other actors in the first movie.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I feel like this guy can be a solid actor and doing a movie with Cronenberg is a step in the right direction. Why does he have to join the gayest f*cking franchise movies ever? The Hunger Games was the most boring, overhyped sh*t I think I've ever seen next to Avatar and I'm not even going to say anything about Twilight that hasn't been said before

"Pattinson has a relationship with Lionsgate, since the studio owns "The Twilight" franchise"

Does it mean that Pattinson has no choice in the matter?
