Ryan Reynolds in Talks for "Highlander" RebootSubmit Comment
Variety has learned that Summit Entertainment is moving forward with a "Highlander" reboot and is looking to cast Ryan Reynolds to play the lead. It's unclear whether an actual offer has been made, but both sides are currently in talks are interested in working together.

In "Highlander," after centuries of dueling to survive against others like him, Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his kind, a murderously brutal barbarian, who lusts for the Prize.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) is set to direct the new movie from a script by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Punisher: War Zone).

Why do they continue to reward all this box office poisons? They literally throw these guys into as many flicks as possible until one finally becomes a success. Ryan's last film was successful only because of Denzel's star power yet the two before it bombed like Hiroshima.

Tatum is another. Had like five failures until he lucked out and people decided to see his sh*t this year.

Um no, no to the reboot and no to Reynolds as the star!!

People don't realize that what made the first highlander so good was that it had one of the greatest villains in cinema history.Clancy Brown was perfect in that role.

Ryan Reynolds is a good actor.

He was great in Buried but Green Lantern wasn't the best comic book movie of 2011.

Still I don't know if he can play the main lead as good as Chrisopher Lambert did.

I hope I am proven wrong and Reynolds does a great job and this turns out to be a good reboot.

I hope it is R rated.

Of course I'm still waiting for the public apology for Highlander 2:The Quickening, now that was a piece of sh*t!

If they do this, I nominate Edward James Olmos as Rodriguez. f*ck Sean Connery.

Hey Ryan,

there can be only one.

Ryan Reynolds has the acting capability of George Clooney, which is to say that once you ignore his reputed p*ssy magnetism, he's an empty shell with a Cheshire's grin. Reynold's has simply never done anything worth a damn, and yes, I know he was in Buried, but he was in a box the entire time talking on a phone. Not exactly enough to say he's even human.

Also, Highlander, the first film, worked because Sean was, is, the man, and always will be, and Clancy Brown was just ecstatically evil villain. Lambert was the weakest role imo and if you look at some sh*t like Blade 3, you'll exactly what Reynolds would look like as the titular character, which is to say, a f*cking failure. As always.

And yes, Valerie and Bunny and SuluNakamura, we know you want Reynolds to plow you like spring corn, but that doesn't make the man an actor.
