Focus Features has unveiled the trailer for "Hyde Park on Hudson," which stars Bill Murray and Laura Linney. It is directed by Roger Michell and is set to hit theaters on December 7th. Check out the trailer below.
Plot: In June 1939, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Murray) and his wife Eleanor (Olivia Williams) host the King and Queen of England (Samuel West, Olivia Colman) for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York – the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. With Britain facing imminent war with Germany, the Royals are desperately looking to FDR for support. But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR's domestic establishment, as wife, mother, and mistresses all conspire to make the royal weekend an unforgettable one.
Seen through the eyes of Daisy (Linney), Franklin's distant cousin, neighbor, and intimate, the weekend will produce not only a special relationship between two great nations, but, for Daisy – and through her, for us all – a deeper understanding of the mysteries of love and friendship.
I don't if that deserves an Oscar but I can tell you that Bill Murray is a member of the jury in Cannes at the moment and I was amused to see Murray being totally HIGH during an interview. He barely paid attention to the questions asked and he was jabbing nonstop for 10 min.
Hollywood makes a Reagan movie, it's a hit piece. They make a George W movie, and it's a hit piece. They make a Nixon film, same. Palin? Same. McCain? Same.
But FDR? He's god. Kennedy? God's God. And you don't talk sh*t about the idiot that nearly got the world nuked over some sh*t-hole island banana republic, or the near-term crippled socialist dictator, I'm sorry, twenty term 'president', who deliberately made the global recession into a decade-extended Great Depression.
are you always this cynical and pissed off? seems you hate everything and everyone. do you cuss your mom out when she tells you happy birthday?
or when having sex with a girl/guy do you bitch at them when they ask you to last longer?
