NBC Cancels "Harry's Law" and "Awake"

Posted: May 13th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
NBC Cancels "HarrySubmit Comment
NBC has announced that it has canceled "Harry's Law," the legal drama starring Kathy Bates. Also gone are "Are You There, Chelsea?," "Bent," "Best Friends Forever" and "Awake."

"Awake" is a dual-universe series about a cop (Jason Isaacs) who loses his wife in one realm and his son in another. It received lots of critical praise, but failed to find an audience. It has already been revealed that there will be no attempts to revive the show on cable.

Meanwhile, the network renewed "Parks and Recreation" for a fourth season, "Up All Night, " starring Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph, for a second season, and "Whitney" for a second season.

Yeah, probably too smart a premise for America's network-watching zombies. Should have been auctioned off to HBO or Showtime.

Never saw the show pornfly. I just figured it's too intelligent to make it on network TV. You have to put that stuff on more hip, open-minded and progressive channels.

Who the f*ck watches NBC, except for the news, anyway?

They should cancel Law and Order. All thirty of them.

Southland used to be on NBC
but there was already too many cop dramas and nobody likes L.A

@diddler It was first on NBC they canceled it after 7 episodes then tnt picked it up.

@pornfly I think Southland is good. Its not one of those typical boring procedural cop dramas.

NBC can suck a donkey d*ck. Awake was f*cking awesome.

To NBC: f*ck YOU, f*ck YOU, f*ck YOU.

The show needs to be saved by another network.

Guess TV is now appealing to the lowest common denominator.

Thank f*ck for stations like

AMC, HBO, TNT & the others who are willing to take a chance on some shows and have the ratings to show it.

Awake was awesome, and I agree with @minkowski, it should have been sold to HBO or even AMC, which is interested in bringing shows that are different.
The First Rule writes:

Thats too bad because Awake is good, but I got to be honest I am hoping intelligent conclusion that wraps up the series, I didn't see it going beyond a season anyway.

That said PARKS AND RECREATION was renewed for a FIFTH SEASON. Fine reporting WP...

@holtlt

If by different things you mean they strayed from the polarized world of cop shows and medical dramas then yes AMC tried something different. But their shows aren't amazing, Walking Dead is entertaining and so is Breaking Bad and Mad Men, but the latter two are thoroughly overrated.

Rubicon was the best show I've seen on AMC and it only lasted one season, which is really too bad, maybe Netflix will revive it like AD and Jericho.

Harry's Law was getting redikulus. They lost me a long time ago, so I'm not surprised by the annoucement.

There aren't many shows out there that keep me guessing all the way to the end credits, thats why if find Awake very interesting, the show is very intelligent and just recently began to reveal more of its self.

NBC is stupid for letting this go.

One show on the bubble was Brian Williams' newsmagazine, "Rock Center," but it is on the fall schedule for Thursday nights at 10 p.m. Greenblatt conceded the show's ratings are not what NBC hoped for, but said such shows frequently take time to catch on.
