Experts Say "The Avengers" Battles Would Create $160 Billion of Damage to ManhattanSubmit Comment
Round two of pointless "The Avengers" trivia. We already know how much screen time each superhero got in the movie, and now we have estimates on how much damage the final battle caused to New York, if everything that happened, happened in real life?

According to THR, the actual physical damage of the alien invasion would be between $60 and $70 billion. The cleanup costs would be at $90 billion. And when you add the loss of thousands of lives, the total number ends up at $160 billion.

To give you an idea how much damage that is, the tsunami in Japan last year created $122 billion of destruction, Hurricane Katrina cost $90 billion, and 9/11 attacks cost $83 billion.

"And when you add the loss of thousands of lives, the total number ends up at $160 billion."

I'm pretty sure that a few thousand lives are worth more than 'ten million or so', but hey, if you think you can put a dollar sign on the lives of several thousand people, who am I, lowly internet scribe, to argue?

"Try to calculate all the Emmerich disaster films while your at it."

'2012' destroyed the entire world, so that's like seventy gajillion dollars or something, but Africa survived, so there's that...

Yes, well between The Avengers, Godzilla, King Kong, Armageddon, and every other films that has almost completely destroyed the city...

Doucheception writes:

wow they estimated it!?
Well that's interesting???

Anyways that would be alot of cash concerning that the battle only took place within a radius of 3-7 street blocks

Why not just call in Damage Control too clean up. They specializes in repairing the property damage caused by conflicts between superheroes and supervillains

It wouldn't cost anything.

Have supes fly around the world in reverse so that time returns. Destruction to reconstruction completed. End of line

Alien invaders got nothing on predatory loans in conjunction unregulated markets that trade in synthetic collateralized debt obligations when it comes to costing the tax payers money.
minkowski writes:

Parasites. People that write this sh*t are just riding in on the Avengers for the attention. They couldn't get viewers before, so they're sucking The Avengers' blood.

Wonder how much it would cost to take the"experts" out of their mom's basement and get them laid?

Fifty bucks for the hooker, infinity to get the nerd to leave his basement.
