Matthew McConaughey "Killer Joe" Trailer Posted: May 8th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
LD Entertainment has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming "Killer Joe" black comedy, which stars Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, Thomas Haden Church, Gina Gershon, and Juno Temple. Check it out below. Plot: When 22 year old drug dealer Chris (Hirsch) has his stash stolen by his mother, he has to come up with $6,000 quick or he's dead. Desperate, he turns to "Killer Joe" (McConaughey) when he finds out that his mother's life insurance policy is worth $50,000. Although Joe usually demands cash up front, he finds himself willing to bend the rules in exchange for Chris' attractive younger sister, Dottie (Temple), who will serve as sexual collateral until the money comes in. If it ever does. The new movie is directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist, The French Connection) and is set to hit theaters uncut with an NC-17 rating on July 27th, in limited release.

I'll say it again. We did this play at my college. Had to watch one of my classmates suck a chicken leg as if it was Killer Joe's wiener.

^^Travolta, is that you?

McConaughey will screw this up.
You just watch. He's like Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie or Jar Jar Binks. Capable of ruining an entire movie the first 5 minutes of screen time.

That description seems like its laying the drama a bit thick there.
"There's this guy who needs money cuz he owes some bad guys but then he does something crazy to get it back!"
sh*t has been done before. Heath Ledger did it better in 'Two Hands'.

This looks pretty good. f*ck you McConaughaters! The guy makes pretty good movies when he steers clear of the rom-coms. Especially love his recently Eastbound appearances.

Agree with SAC here, This looks good.
But why the delay in release wasn't this made a couple of years ago ??

Mink LOL !!
The French Connection (which i bet you've still not seen have you?)is the only really good film he's made IMO, Exorcist is average at best and Al Pacino as gay cop serial killer in Crusing was bloody terrible.
So he's due another good film it's been 41 years since his last one.

Looks good. As SAC said, McConaughey can be good when doesn't do rom-coms. Always loved him in 'Frailty'.

Friedkin also made long-forgotten Sorcerer (remake of Clouzot's The Wages of Fear) that was while at times uneven, but very solid and impressively shot film.

I haven't seen that one mate, To Live And Die In LA was ok but have not seen that in years ...

highly recommended if you're into surrealistic action with great performances and a kick-ass score by Tangerine Dream. Might seem dull or plotless for some tastes though.
If I remember right, this video will give you a pretty accurate presentation of how this movie feels.
To Live and Die in LA - loved that one. It's unevenly paced, but has probably one of the most shocking endings ever. And Defoe as a villain creates a bit cheesy, but very uneasy and creepy portrait of a smart and brutal counterfeiter.

Thanks for the link Kurskij
Do you know what i have never seen anything on this movie before, But it looks really good.
Lovin the cinema photography from the clips looks awesome.
And the Tangerine Dream score reminds alot of John Carpenter's musical influence on his films.
Plus Roy Scheider is in it, overall it looks like a real winner to me.
I'm gonna find it to buy it, Cheers pal ...

I heard this was rated NC-17 because of some gruesome scene involving crispy chicken. That alone makes me want to see what all the fuss is about.
