While people in the US are downing large quantities of alcohol as part of their celebration of Cinco De Mayo, director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2, Mother's Day, 11-11-11) is busy turning the holiday into another horror film.
Just yesterday (May 5th), a trailer for the film appeared online via this website. The trailer features two men (one is Andrew Howard from "Limitless") attempting to smuggle Mexicans over the US border. Unfortunately, they run into another kind of illegal aliens, the extraterrestrial kind.
There is a good chance that the film has yet to be shot, despite the fact that it's planned for May 5th of next year. This is probably a sales trailer that will be used to shop the project around the Cannes Film Festival. The only other piece of information we have is that it will be produced by Wayne Rice, who also produced Bousman's "11-11-11."
Anybody that believes that piracy truly hurts Hollywood is a c*nt. Offense intended.
Piracy might hurt smaller films but even that isn't true all the time. Case in point - The Man from Earth. Small film which has now been viewed by hundreds of thousands thanks to piracy. Even the producer went on to thank the pirates - http://torrentfreak.com/producer-thanks-pirates-for-stealing-his-film-071113/
^^Yeah, see, I think The Avengers cam actually BOOSTED ticket sales. I think it gave people a proper, fair preview to see a good film, because I think most people aren't cheap. They have money, they want to spend it, but they want to spend it on something good, so when they saw the Avengers cam, or talked to someone who saw it, they knew then they'd buy a ticket.
Piracy hurts Hollywood, though, that's true, because it prevents people from paying for sh*t, and Hollywood doesn't want you to take a film for a test drive before you buy a ticket. They alone make the manipulative trailers and teasers, and they alone decide when and if you make the right choice at the theater.
Of all the dates, I always knew that the Mexican holiday of the victory of Puebla that changed the tides of war for the rebellion in its civil war towards its independence was always a bad omen for me!!....GOD HELP US ALL!!
Oh, please...What's next? The horrible return of the wicked Columbus Day?
