Jonah Hill to Join Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street"Posted: May 4th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Apparently it wasn't the weight-loss that got Jonah Hill his Oscar nomination for "Moneyball." Because now that he has put the pounds back on, Martin Scorsese is still looking to sign him for "The Wolf of Wall Street," opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
DiCaprio is playing Belfort, a Long Island penny stock broker who served twenty months in prison for participating in a massive 1990s securities fraud that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration. Belfort -- who lived large, owned a yacht that sank off the coast of Sardinia and became an alcoholic and drug addict -- served as an inspiration for Ben Younger's 2000 movie Boiler Room.
Hill is set to play Danny Porush, who is convinced by his future best friend and business partner Belfort to quit his job in furniture sales and enter the lucrative yet volatile world of stock brokering. The film chronicles the duo's meteoric rise and colossal fall amid scandal, fraud and excess.

Great. I've never understood Hollywood. All those uber-liberal retards hate the bankers they claim not only represent the most evil of capitalist vices, but they, and others, also claim they're single-handedly responsible for the recent detonation of the economy; And yet Hollywood never shies away from making money off of films based on Wall Street's supposed evil.

I've read both "Wolf of Wall Street" books by Belfort, and the addition of Jonah Hill as Danny? No, just no. Bad casting choice. Jonah was alright in Superbad, but playing Danny Porush? f*ck off.

Danny is like a suck up to Belfort in the book, but with his own weird charm and charisma (despite how f*cked up the character is to begin with). I just don't see Jonah being that bloke.

He f*cks his cousin... put it that way. Doubt the movie will tread into that territory.
But hey, what do I know...

Ugh WHYYYYYY did they have to choose DiCRAPrio to play Belfort?! In the book (aka real life) Belfort is actually quite short. Because of this, there's plenty of times where it causes "distress" to him and creates HILARIOUS moments. I doubt sh*t like that will happen in this flick. f*cking hell.

It's because Hill is a jew. Michael Cera disappears, and Hill's career flourishes... how does that make sense?
