Today we have a trailer for the "End of Watch" crime thriller, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Anna Kendrick, Frank Gillo, and America Ferrera. Check it out below.

Plot: The story revolves around young Los Angeles police officers Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Zavala (Pena) as they patrol the city's meanest streets of south central Los Angeles. The action unfolds entirely through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city's most dangerous corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.

The new movie is written and directed by David Ayer, the man who wrote "Training Day" and directed both "Harsh Times" and "Street Kings." It is set to hit theaters on September 28th.

Street Kings was great, Keanu was solid in it. Not as good as Training Day but up there. Keen to check this out when I get home.

I love David Ayers material and style, but he has to walk away from the cops in LA angle.

How about a thrilling and exciting film about the provocative seedy world of underground hot lady officers and their lesbian orgies? Because that would be better. I would watch that.

Food footage again? Or something similar...

No thanks!

A toss between TRAINING DAY & THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, huh? IDK, it's a hard sell, but looks like it ain't skimping out on the action.

Ayer's material is good...not Mann's HEAT good, but good all the same. Always liked how Ayers puts a face/ family to the law. Anybody seen STREET KINGS: MOTOR CITY with Ray Liotta? Wondering if I should rent it...

Also noticing how Hollywood is barely tapping on the new cartel violence crossing the border. Doubt it'll as brutal as real life with whole families shot execution style, decapitations or dismemberments. The truth is sometimes real life is scarier than any horror movie. I tell you, in Mexico, not even celebrities or musicians are safe.

Looks like Ayers is bringing the headlines to Hollywood making it more gritty & edgy.
