Columbia Pictures unveiled the official trailer for "Hope Springs," starring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Steve Carell and Elizabeth Shue. Check it out below.
Plot: Kay (Streep) and Arnold (Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her skeptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough – the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place.
The new movie is directed by David Frankel, who re-teamed with Streep after working together on "The Devil Wears Prada." "Hope Springs" is set to hit theaters on August 10th.
Doesn't look too bad...you know Streep/ Jones look really interesting playing these parts. It's in their subtlety where their acting really shows. This is also small budget with big names so hopefully it'll be a passion project, so you know the acting won't be phoned in....right, Jones? Streep should raise everyone's game.
I actually think it might be more realistic than othe older romantic movies than say, SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE...
My interest was peaked until they brought up from the re-team of "THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA". Now I'm expecting a really sappy or anticlimax ending...
streep and jones make a pretty legit couple. I'll rent this for my wife and mother-in-law. They both love streep. Thankfully they hate twilight. And they love Braveheart. and i say, "Yeah.. I'm scottish."
so yeah, this movie will get my money one way or another.
