"Captain America" Sequel Gets a Release Date

"Captain America" Sequel Gets a Release DateSubmit Comment
Marvel Studio has announced that it will release the sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" on April 4th, 2014 and that the story will pick up immediately after "The Avengers," with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) continuing his affiliation with SHIELD and struggling to embrace his role in the modern world.

We recently reported that Joe Johnson, the director of the first film, will not be brought back. The studio has instead put together a list of ten possible replacement, and has already narrowed it down to three contenders: George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job), and Anthony and Joseph Russo (You, Me and Dupree, "Community"). A director will likely be revealed as early as mid-April.

The first movie hit theaters last year and went on to gross $368 million worldwide on a $140 million budget.

One simple request: Who ever directs can you please hire someone who's actually a fan and who has even read some of the comics.

Awesome. I love Captain America. I just hope they get a good director. Joe Johnston did a really good job. It would be a miracle if he changed his mind and got on board. What really sucks is that Jon Favreau(Iron Man), Kenneth Branagh(Thor), and Joe Johnston(Captain America: The First Avenger) won't be returning after The Avengers.

After the avengers how can any if the heroes go back to their own story......surley if theres a big threat they'll just ring the avengers instead if just one if them

So he doesn't die in the Avengers. None of them do. Because if they did, Marvel couldn't make more films. So the threat in Avengers is really just a threat against nobodies, cast away actors. So the tension is where again, because at this point, we already know the film: Avengers assemble, Avengers battle villain, Avengers win.

Yawn
