"Hellraiser" TV Series in the Works

"Hellraiser" TV Series in the WorksSubmit Comment
In a Variety article about how RHI Entertainment has re-branded itself as Sonar Entertainment as hired Stewart Till as their new CEO, comes word that the company is now co-developing a new television series based on the "Hellraiser" property. Larry Kuppin, whose New World Entertainment is behind the first two films, is on board to produce.

"The gap between an okay show and a great show is getting bigger and bigger and our obsession going forward will be to find high quality shows that people really want," said Till. "If you look at our slate, you'll see shows that have either a great brand name like 'King Tut' or 'Hellraiser' that arrive with a recognition, a build-in marketing platform and/or a great writer."

Not much is known about the show, but it's doubtful that Clive Barker will be involved. Stay tuned.

lol they tried this trash already with Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, and they both failed. The latter had nothing to do with the movie an the former ran for less than two seasons and hardly had Robert Englund in it.

If they landed Clive and put it on AMC or FX it could be as successful as The Walking Dead. It just needs to be done well . But my inner pessimist is boiling up so i am with Bando ... its gonna suck more balls then a Korean whore during fleet week .

"Hellraiser" TV Series in the Works

This didn't work for Nightmare on Elm Street the Series or Friday the 13th the Series ... I bet that they'll try to do a back to back with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Series ...

Even on HBO ? Nah, it may last two to three seasons, but will be lucky to reach a fourth.

* Case in Point/Example ~ Millenium, The TV Series .... a cross between The Dark Zone and Manhunter.

Millennium sucked. Chris Carter had one hit, the X-Files and he thought he had a license to make any sh*t that came to mind. He was wrong. Millennium had a f*cking shelf life anyway and he knew it. Can't drag the series past 2000 without looking like an ass anyway. And how long did he think he'd drag the bland plot out otherwise? Even a f*cking X-Files crossover and a role for one of the main actors in Fight the Future couldn't save that average trash. One of the best eps was Avatar, BTW, inspired the Zodiac killer. FWIW, which in the case of WP, nothing.

I think this news is as bad as when they made ROBOCOP into a f*cking cartoon...

Both weren't made for that...unimaginative hacks.

tv show producers are f*cking runnning out of ideas now, cant come up with a new story and just take a f*cking movie series and make it into a show, this will be a waste of time
