"30 Days of Night" Helmer to Direct "Hannibal" TV SeriesPosted: March 31st, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Director David Slade (Twilight Saga: Eclipse, 30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) is working on a "Daredevil" remake, but has just signed on to helm the pilot episode of NBC's upcoming "Hannibal" series, which has already received a thirteen episode order.
The new series is described as an hour-long contemporary thriller that revolves around FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It is considered a prequel to the film franchise and will take place before the events in Brett Ratner's "Red Dragon" and Michael Mann's "Manhunter."
As previously reported, the role of Will Graham went to Hugh Dancy (Martha Marcy May Marlene). No word on which actor will play Hannibal.

I think 'Hannibal Rising' proved that no one other than Anthony Hopkins can play Hannibal. It is his role, the one he was born to play.

@Freud: That's what Is aid the other day. Hopkins sold all three of his Hannibal films, no one else. He's a great actor imo, and he always makes anything he's in watchable.
Good idea to get this guy. He's made a few decent flicks, but he should get the f*ck out of Daredevil while he can.

Comparing Anthony Hopkins with Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecter is like comparing Harrison Ford with Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan...all opinion & all winners in my book.
Can't go wrong with either, IMO.

Maybe they can dig up Fred Silverman's skeleton and have Hannibal do a recap of the night to it at the end of each episode .... like a horror Jerry Springer.

@Freudian
Actually, "Red Dragon" just substanciates the proof that Brett RatTurd can't direct sh*t.

hopkins was an amazing performance
but it WAS a performance
brian cox was better
because he felt more real
such a quiet character
i saw Hugh Dancy in the john hurt drama SHOOTING DOGS
he is a fine actor
he will be a perfect Will graham
i think game of thrones star
Nikolaj coster-Waldau
