Thanks to IGN, we now have a five-minute clip from the upcoming "Lockout" sci-fi film, starring Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace (Taken) and Peter Stormare (Fargo). Check it out below.
Plot: A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the US is offered freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter (Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.
The new movie is written by Besson (director of "The Fifth Element" and "The Professional") and directed by James Mather. It is set to hit theaters on April 20th.
smacks of die hard in space. luc besson is on my sh*t list in general, but i kinda like what i've seen from this so far. guy pearce is great, so perhaps he's elevating the material...

We will see. Luc Besson hasn't delivered anything noteworthy or worthwhile since The Fifth Element, and with each passing failed project his name is further resigned to ashbin of cinematic history.
Pearce delivers, no doubt, and like Neeson, he's one of the very few actors who can save a dreadful film by mere presence, although Maggie Grace is a slouch and Peter Stormare, while always engaging and interesting, has taken too many pains to typecast himself as the bad-accented villain or half-wit. He's simply never done enough to establish a respectable acting credential, so ultimately, story and Pearce will make or break this one.
Hope it works, but I don't need it to; I have Prometheus for sci-fi this year.
