Thanks to Collider, we now have the first poster for the upcoming R-rated, live-action/CG-animated comedy "Ted," starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Patrick Warburton, and Giovanni Ribisi. It was given out at SXSW, where the first footage was screened.

Plot: The story revolves around John Bennett (Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear (MacFarlane) who came to life as the result of a childhood wish... and has refused to leave his side ever since.

The new movie is written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of "Family Guy." He is also voicing the title character. "Ted" is set to hit theaters on July 13th.

That's cool. Neither the teddy bear nor Wahlberg have any sophistication, and I can't wait for the bear to be proclaimed the better actor.

So, the little guy from AI is getting his next film. And here I thought he was stuck doing fabric softener commercials.

How was Contraband? I like Marky-Mark, but for those who saw The Happening can agree that he just flat-out sucked. Everyone involved flat-out sucked, now that were on the subject. Someone please end M Night Shamalamadingdong...

The new movie is written and directed by Seth MacFarlane,

So we can expect long jokes that are only funny once and musicals.

Contraband and the fighter are his best movies of his career.

Don't even mention the Departed, cause.that's a remake of Infernal Affairs trilogy and is like 1000x better.

Thats true BANDO but as far as a Wahlberg movie goes it holds up but only cuz its an ensemble cast

Why can't his other childhood wish to become a better actor come to life too?

If you notice, Wahlberg has been great on FOUR BROTHERS, THE DEPARTED, and THE OTHER GUYS because he does what he does best- being rude, crude, & funny just like this rated R comedy by McFarlane, probably like his TV show...he'll be good for the role.

What can I say? Wahlberg is good at being a d!ck. Probably has it typed up in his resume.

Wahlberg could be the ticket for McFarlane to breakout & start making a new type of comedy movies. Maybe...

So is this why Family Guy has been horrid the last couple of seasons? Cuz Macfarlane has been busy with this project?

"..the cherished teddy bear (MacFarlane) who came to life.."

I have a funny feeling that the teddy bear will me cry laughing and Wahlberg will make me cry. As usual.

Avirex writes:

I thought it was supposed to be a giant teddy bear? Might have been almost slightly possibly amusing. This however is just another "look its cute little and vulgar so its HILARIOUS!" kind of thing. Like "Paul" with Rogen which was mehhhhh.
