Lucy Liu is Watson in CBS' "Sherlock Holmes" TV Series

Posted: February 28th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Lucy Liu is Watson in CBSSubmit Comment
We recently reported that Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers, Trainspotting, "Eli Stone," "Dexter") was cast as the title character in CBS' "Sherlock Holmes" TV series, to be directed by Michael Cuesta ("Dexter," Twelve and Holding).

At the time, we guessed that to change things up a bit, the network would cast a woman to play Watson. Now comes word that Lucy Liu has signed on to play the famous sidekick, becoming the first woman to play the character.

The new show will be a modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes, who will now live in New York City.

You're way too generous Trailer. I would flip a 2 € coin and if it's head, long blow job; if tale, she gets it in the ass!

Cinema

I was always a Rathbone and Cushing fan when it came to Sherlock Holmes, But a friend of mine has lent me the dvd's for seasons 1 & 2

I have missed a trick here, c*mberbatch and Freeman are brilliant as Holmes and Watson.

And the update works ok because it's been kept in London.

Only a couple episodes in but so far so bloody good.

Maybe Anthony Mackie as Sherlock

And what do you have SHERLOCK HOMES

Cinemaisdead writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 8:41:23 AM

Trailer- Yeah I only watched it quite recently too, missed it on TV but you're right c*mberbatch is brilliant it's no wonder he's getting so many roles now and Freeman as Watson seems perfect, I can't imagine any one else playing the parts. It just seems to get better and better as well I love the way they use text when he's analysing the situation. I just don't see how such a british character will ever work in America. If he acts like c*mberbatches blunt , brutally honest Sherlock the americans would cry and probably shoot him.
trailertrash writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 8:54:23 AM

Agree there mate

No way Miller can fill those shoes as well as c*mberbatch has, He doesn't have the range in his acting IMO

Wow. Brilliant f*cking idea. Not only did they recast the portly Brit into a beanpole Asian, they recast the character's sex as well, and even worse, chose someone that has virtually no screen worth, because you know we all loved Chow-Yun Fat's retarded sisster in Ecks vs Sever, an American cinema favorite.

Awful. Just f*cking awful. They already f*cked the story over with the Robert Downey films, which I enjoyed btw, BUT, that's not Sherlock and Holmes and I think Doyle would strangle an East End hooker if he knew what some stupid *sshole yank was doing to his stories, even though Doyle wasn't all that fond of his violin-playing, cocaine-snorting detective initially...

Does the world really need anymore Sherlock Holmes? Sure it may be great literature but so was a Christmas carol before its teat was milked until nobody gave a f#ck anymore.
minkowski writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 3:48:36 PM

No one even reads the f*cking Sherlock Holmes books, so they have to fill the films with sex and violence and gun battles and explosions because most film-goers are so god-damned stupefied by reality shows and tabloids they can't sit still more than five minutes without loud noises and bright lights.

I do love though that guy Encyclopedia Brown. They should make a film about him. Damned cases the kid went on make Sherlock's adventures look like child's play.
vaodsi writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 4:17:32 PM

so basically the only similarity to the source material is that the main character is a detective named sherlock holmes. How about they just name it something completely different and sever all ties with the source material? Oh yeah, cause nobody would watch this if they weren't tricked into thinking it was SHERLOCK HOLMES. Even still, I doubt this will be a hit. I smell another UNDERCOVERS stinker.
minkowski writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 4:20:37 PM

No coincidence that it comes on the heels of the two rather successful films, either, I suspect...

Watson! To the Batcave! (right, because Batman and Robin have nothing to do with Holmes and Watson whatsoever...)
Mongoloid dad writes:
on February 28th, 2012 at 5:54:54 PM

I can't wait until halfway through the season when all the pent-up sexual tension will be released through a badly scripted drunken kiss
which will end with both characters looking away awkwardly and the dog looking into camera as the audience chuckles.

Later the audience will all die from various diseases but long before then this soon-to-be turdsalad will have been shot at the knees and thrown into the oven.

I thought that it would be named "Elementary", not "Sherlock Holmes". One way or another, this will suck soooo hard. But on the other hand, majority of Americans do not care about the original stories (they dont read, do they), so actually they may think their screenwriters found a way to be original again.

Miscasting isn't a big enough word to describe how f*cked up this is...

Anyway with by the time they try to bring some new blood to Sherlock, it has all been down before fictional and nonfiction...CSI (all of them), Law & Order (all of them), Forensic files, 48 HRs, Bones, Dexter, etc...
It's like trying to bring back the Atari game to the X-Box generation. You can only do so much.

And yes, I have read that BBC's Sherlock is the above and beyond, but I'm talking about the American TV/ audience, which is a totally different story...
