Disney has unveiled the official poster for Tim Burton's stop-motion animated film "Frankenweenie," which is based on Burton's 1984 short by the same name. Check out the poster below.

Plot: After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life - with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

"Frankenweenie" is written by John August (Big Fish) and features the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, and Atticus Shaffer. It is set to hit conventional and 3D theaters on October 5th.

"From the director of Alice In Wonderland." - means this is going to suck if they don't attract the audience with Tim's movies that don't actually suck.

Tim Burton can't do sh*t if it isn't gothic weird. What a f*cked up idiot.

Gothic movies or Pee Wee Herman movies.

So, it's black and white, but in 3D? Huh? What's next, THX mono? Sugar-free ice cream?

Oh, wait...

"features the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, and Atticus Shaffer."

f*ck me stupid, there's no Carter or Depp to be seen. Did they die or something, or did Burton finally absorb them through osmosis?

Hey Burton, Elvira called. She wants her bowel movements back, so stop making films, *sshole.

Wow no Depp or Bohnam Carter. He musta been lonely during the making of this movie.

Why the hell didn't he have it say "From the director of Edward Scissorhands" or "...The Nightmare Before Christmas" (since they're both f*cking stop motion movies)?? Of course they had to go with one of his stupid remakes. "From the husband of Johnny Depp"

Wonder if they'll make a porn parody of this?

With that title, the movie writes itself no?
minkowski writes:

The porn parody was done a while back:

I'm really excited about this, I was a huge fan of the original Frankenweenie short when I was a kid, this is going to be awesome!

Of course this is all speculative since Depp is not tied to this project . Would this be filed under re-boot ?

@The5thBeatle5,
Edward Scissorhands wasn't stop motion?
And he didn't direct The Nightmare Before Christmas... Just sayin'

Should've chosen a different one of his films though.

Tim Burton should go & blow some goats! No children should be watching his sick sh*t. f*ck off Burton!

I think that The Nightmare Before Christmas best character was the dog. So making a movie with the same tone and vibe it's fine by me. And the plot doesn't sound that bad... for a dvd rental that is.

The best Burton flick is his most anti-burton film: Ed Wood. Awesome film.
