Two New "Beauty and the Beast" Films in the Works, with Emma Watson and Vincent CasselSubmit Comment
Just one year after "Beastly," there are now two new live-action "Beauty and the Beast" projects in the works, including one by Guillermo del Toro and one by Christophe Gans (Silent Hill).

Del Toro's is called "Beast," which he will direct from a script by Andrew Davies (The Three Musketeers, Bridget Jones' Diary). Emma Watson (Harry Potter) is in final negotiations to star.

Gans' film doesn't have a title yet, but it will star Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Eastern Promises) and Lea Seydoux (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). The project will begin shooting in October and is currently being shopped to buyers at the European Film Market.

Christopher Gans hasn't made a movie since Sillent hill.

He was set to direct Onimusha movie, but that stuck in development hell. Also he was set to direct Phantomas (thriller mystery based on brilliant books), but i don't know what happened to that.

Also - loved Brotherhood of Wolves - it's my favorite French movie.

Gans needs to stay away from this type of movies.

Just have Vincent Cassell and his real wife in it
Hopefully these movies wont be gay
Maybe along the lines of Coppolas' Dracula, you almost felt sorry for him
Then theres the wolf rape scene

Nothing will come close to the original movie "La Belle et la Bête" from Jean Cocteau 1946.

Vincent Cassel is the ugliest French actor on the planet and nothing special about his acting skills. I don't understand how he got to marry Monica Bellucci. Maybe he's got a magic penis or she's totally insane in her head considering she made the higly disturbing movie "Irréversible" where she get's repeatedly raped and beaten up for 20 min or so.

Anyway, I rather watch again the original one than this future sh*te.

First two Snow White projects, now two Beauty & the Beast project...hmm

I guess the hero fad is waning off...

But actually it's already been done. Remember BEASTLY with the STORMBREAKER kid & Vanessa Hudgenson?
It will probably be the same result as that...just tweens & neglected housewives will show up to watch those movies.

I don't expect the fairytale movie fad to last long. No real money in it, I think.

Correction: Except for Disney.

...and even at that, Disney's attention to fairytales is not as strong anymore...

Uh, it's called 'money', and if you have it, looks really don't matter, unless you're Steve Buscemi.

Brother, don't even get me started on that one...
