Two Dracula Films in the Works

Two Dracula Films in the WorksSubmit Comment
NY magazine has learned that Warner Bros is in talks with Russell Crowe to star in "Harker," a re-imagining of Bram Stoker's "Dracula," that's being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The story is from the point of view of Jonathan Harker, who instead of his traditional role as a lawyer is now a Scotland Yard detective investigating the Count's string of grisly murders in England.

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures is in negotiations with Gary Shore to direct "Dracula Year Zero," the film that has been in development for years with Sam Worthington (Avatar) attached to star and Alex Proyas (I, Robot) directing. Now, with a lower budget and a new script, the studio is pushing forward with the project that revolves around Vlad the Impaler, who inspired the mythology behind Dracula. Worthington is no longer attached.

Have Dracula look like he should.

Unless one of them is a re-release of the Hammer Classic Horror of Dracula with Lee and Cushing, I don't care.

There's more than 2.

Dario Argento's Dracula is coming out also. And it looks plain awful.

There's also that David Slade Dracula movie, "Last Voyage of the Demeter". I remember something about Noomi Rapace, Ben Kingsley, and Jude Law being involved with that.

I guess the world can't get enough of Dracula.
