"Terminator 5" to be R-Rated

Posted: January 27th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Terminator 5" to be R-RatedSubmit Comment
The first three "Terminator" films were all R-rated, but then McG's "Terminator Salvation" decided it would be best to lower the rating to PG-13 in hopes of making the franchise for a more general audience that could result in higher grosses.

It turned out that "Terminator Salvation" earned less than the second and third installments, which made the filmmakers behind the franchise take notice. Megan Ellison, who now owns the rights to "Terminator," was asked on Twitter regarding the rating the fifth installment will be aiming for.

Ellison replied: "We can't really tell you guys anything about Terminator BUT it will be an R rated film as God and James Cameron intended."

Well, duh. They milking this franchise until it's completely dry. Same thing with Fast and furious.

Oh, she's the daughter of multi-billionaire Larry Ellison. He is the co-founder and CEO of Oracle.

Must be rough (or: 'RUFF-RUFF!' after I get her in the sack).

Anywho...

They should attribute this less to the PG-13 rating and more to the fact that the movie was terrible. Its only saving grace was Sam Worthington.

just let this franchise rest in peace.it should have properly ended with Terminator 3 directed by cameron but he decided to lose his balls and make titanic instead.
Taco writes:

First off, @ boogiel, fast and furious continues to make more money with each film, so that's not really milking it when they produce more profits than the previous installments. Second, the 5th terminator needs to be the future war we have seen bits of in the 1st and 2nd films. Robots, machines and humans fighting in the ruins of L.A. Laser guns and chrome machines, that's all i ask. Also, DON'T call it TERMINATOR!! just call it "Skynet" and make a new series of films on just this aspect of the story. That's where it needs to go. Other than that, i have no opinion!

This is usually what they say so they can create som positive buzz among the fans. But as production is getting closer, guess the rating.

@TACO:

I sign that. This is nothing but good news.

And yeah show us the f*cking future we've seen in the previous films. And show how Kylee Reese is sent back and how John hands him the picture of Sarah and tells him all about her.

I love this franchise please give it a good ending... or beginning if you will. trime travel philosophy...
minkowski writes:

"First off, @ boogiel, fast and furious continues to make more money with each film, so that's not really milking it when they produce more profits than the previous installments."

The amount of money a film makes is irrelevant to whether the franchise in question is being 'milked', a term that refers to the well-known cinematic situation wherein a franchise is creatively dead, but the producers make more in the series because they know idiots will pay to see said films no matter how creatively dead they are.

An perfect example: Fast and the Furious.

Yeah, the 'frachise' already had a good 'beginning. A little movie you might have heard of, called 'The Terminator'.

It should be R rated. WTF? There are certain films that need to be R rated. Terminator is one of them.

or they can make it PG and have one liners like the one in T3

"TALK TO THE HAND"
so wack, i shut if off and didnt finish it. He was no longer a Terminator to me. Just a robot programed with hollywood garbage
