For a remake of "Escape from New York" it is pretty good.

Guy Pearce rarely gives a bad performance even when he was in "Neigbours"

Sounds more like Space version of resident evil 4 but without the zombies. It's Nice to see Guy Pearce kick some ass though.

You nailed it Dave. This has Escape from NY written all over it. In this case however that doesn't look to be a bad thing. A good but dated concept gets a decent update for a change. And with Pearce involved I've got a little more faith in its quality. The man rarely makes a bad film.

I hate guy Pearce, he just makes me think hes too good to have a supporting cast, or hes too underground to be a good actor, f*ck that *sshole

Looks like a toss between Escape from New York & that mysterious movie that was in the works about Green Arrow (without costume) trying to escape a maximim security prison with some of DC's low tier villans called Max 1, or something. The gimmick was that it was so hard to escape since every night, the cells would rearrange, making it difficulty to escscape. Wonder if that got cannibilized into this. Good to see Pearce in action man duties though...

apart from the "loose cannon" line, looks good. EFNY update isnt a bad thing.

Powdered Toast Man: If you'd like to list a few of these space prison movies I'm all ears...?

This looks f*cking sweet. Don't know what GreenLensman is on about he must have been gang raped by squirrels as a child. Guy Pearce is a great actor, he deserves more recognition.

looks good, guy pearce is always fun, but luc besson is a sh*t-tastic writer so i guessing this will ultimately disappoint

I wonder how many people missed the political vibe, and not the one that has to do with the President?

You know, the one where even space isn't free from America's prison-industrial complex? lol.

Crafty, Besson, but still not as original as The Fifth Element. Try again, my French friend.

And yeah, Pearce is good, but anyone could have performed his role. I mean, this is American action against a generic sci-fiction backdrop, not 2001: A Space Oddessey.

The trailer narration sounds like a parody. "There's only one man who can [perform this impossible mission]! He's the best there is ... but he's a loose cannon!"
