"Total Recall" Remake Gets Plot SynopsisSubmit Comment
Sony Pictures has unveiled a full plot synopsis for the studio's upcoming "Total Recall" remake, which is directed by Len Wiseman and stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy. The new film is set to hit theaters on August 3rd.

Plot: Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs.

But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Cranston), the leader of the free world Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Nighy) and stop Cohaagen.

The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Love the original.

Don't really see the point of a remake but unlike 97% of you WP'ers i don't mind Farrell plus Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are in it.

So like both of those ladies i'd be willing to give it a go.

So, we already know hat Kate Beckinsale is not his real wife, she'll try to kick Colin's ass and Kate will die with a bullet to the head and Colin will be cheered up by Jessica ! There you go, I just saved 10 bucks !

I'll watch this, I think. Sounds good, evne if it has Failue in it. Just hope they stick closer to the actual d*ck story this time, because the Verhoeven film is kind of silly and over the top, as are most of his films.

these roles are f***ing mixed up..

Bill nighy should be Cohaagen. Cranston = the leader of the underground resistance.

Biel should be that bitchofawife , who sets up Quaid. Beckinsale should be the other black haired one. lol god i can't believe they are remaking that Arnie classic in the first place.

The supporting case sounds good...but too bad Colin Ferrel is the lead which spells SUCK
Kurskij writes:

Judging from the synopsis, Colin Farrell gets to f*ck BOTH Beckinale and Biel. Lucky dude.

@tt

Yeah, Fright night was surprisingly solid, and Farrell (purposely) overacting was a great central performance.

And though David Tennant didn't have much to work with, and Sandra Vergara was HAWT. As if Sofia wasn't enough for one family!

Peter Vincent: f*ck you!
Ginger: I will f*ck myself. Someone's gotta do it.

^ I'm the first in line, baby. I'm the first in line...
Kurskij writes:

BTW, anyone here saw "The Limey" with Terrence Stamp. Planning to watch it, love Stamp - his delivery of "My name's Wilson" is f*cking epic.

Yes, The Limey. Mentioned that film a week back to someone here. Great f*cking film.

I rather watch a double Spielberg feature of Tintin and War Horse than this pile of Colin Failure sh*t.

Couldn't they cast Statham?or Anyone else?
Not Franco
Crazyhorse writes:

Colin Failure will most likely make this a failure.

Why not do a continuation with Arnold in it instead of a remke
Bunny X writes:

I'm ok with sci fi remakes only because it gives them a chance to update the tech used in the older films. Like I'd love to see an update to Buck Rogers only to change the thought that the future is nothing but spandex, disco music and bad hair cuts.

If it's a 'remake' don't we all already know the plot synopsis?
minkowski writes:
on January 18th, 2012 at 6:37:15 PM

Well, maybe, but it's less a remake of the Arnie film and more of a remake straight from the d*ck story, of which few are familiar.
