New "The Dark Knight Rises" Magazine CoverSubmit Comment
Entertainment Weekly visited the set of "The Dark Knight Rises" and spoke to star Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan. All the information will appear in a new issue later this week, but we now have the magazine's cover and a few select quotes. Check everything out below.

Christian Bale: "I can tell you the truth because I'm done with it: I felt immense pressure. And I think it's a good pressure, because you owe it to the films - and the people's expectations - to make great work."

Christopher Nolan: "I think when people see the film, things will come into focus. Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film people will be very entertained by him."

"Why doesn't his belt have a bat logo on it?"

It does. It's just black and very simplified.

Anyway, the cover's ok, there's not much mood, it's just a costume pose pic.

The thing I have an issue with, and this didn't start with Nolan, is why does the costume, without any respect to common sense or reality, always have to have a cleanly defined physique?

I mean, I get it, we need to see Batman as a masculine hero, and the physicality of his bulging plastic muscles helps, I guess, but wouldn't it be even more awesome if Batman was still 'battish', but without the action hero molding?

Just a guy in a dark creepy costume, one that's highly effective but sensible, running amok beating up the bad guys?

Wow... this is just horrible... With the two amazing posters that were released, how the hell do they release this picture?
jdl107 writes:

@mink

That's probably why I always find myself questioning how a criminal would sh*t their pants when looking at him. The suit with the physique defining qualitys just makes Batman look like a guy in a suit. Which, I mean, is what he is, but Batmans suit should be a symbol of fear for the wrongdoers not just a costume. Something that Hollywood never seems to understand.

i wonder if batman had a full mask would it look more sinister like spawn or something??
minkowski writes:

Dunno, but in the comics he often has these little emitters around the eyes that make them look like they're glowing...how that works without blinding him, I have no f*cking clue...
