"Horrible Bosses" Sequel in the Works

Posted: January 5th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Horrible Bosses" Sequel in the WorksSubmit Comment
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writers of the hit comedy "Horrible Bosses," have signed a deal to begin work on a sequel. It is expected that Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis will return to star, and New Line is in early talks with Seth Gordon to return to direct.

"Horrible Bosses" was made for about $35 million, but went on to gross $209 million worldwide. Part of the reason the film was so successful was the amazing casting, which included Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston as bosses who were so difficult to deal with that their employees made a decision to kill them.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

No word on whether the sequel will follow the same formula and find a bunch of new bosses, or whether it will be a direct sequel and deal with Spacey and Aniston trying to get revenge. Stay tuned.

There's no word because its an unwritten rule that they will. Just like sisters, you never have sex with them no matter how hot they are, but I never see a piece of paper XXX-Plicitly saying this...

EDIT: That they will use the same formula, that is

if Spacey got in touch with Aniston from prison and the two of them exacted revenge it would be pretty cool if it all played with the kind of humorous intensity that made the first different from your run of the mill revenge themed comedy. Or Spacey could get out of prison on some BS legal screw up and it could become a dirty minded message movie on the legal system like the first one was on the financial crisis. that might be more ambitious but i think they could pull it off.

Like I'd have issues with Aniston being a maneater.

This could be good lol as long as they make it funny like the first and not copy the original, i say go with the whole "Get Revenge" plot, that could be interesting..

After watching the Hangover 2, I implore Hollywood to stop making crappy sequels where they rehire everyone in the cast and just shoot a terrible movie as quickly as they can. They really don't have to do that. It's an affront to the fans. Rush Hour did it, Ocean's Eleven did it, Iron Man 2 did it, and I can go on. The inside jokes are absolutely terrible too. I suspect the same person somehow is behind all those terrible sequels, because they all have that soul less, rushed signature to them.

Amazing casting? You didn't even list the best character in that film, played by Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny. The rest were expendable.

I think people give the first one far too much credit. It was okay, but no sequel is needed.
