"Mission: Impossible 4" Wins New YearSubmit Comment
As 2011 was coming to an end and 2012 was beginning, Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" continued to dominate the domestic box office. The new film grossed another $31 million for a worldwide total of $325 million. It cost $145 million to make and expert estimate the final global tally will end up at $600 million, which would be a franchise best.

Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" moved up several spots to fourth place by grossing another $17 million. It has now earned a total of $43 million domestically on a $70 million budget and has a 77% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.

On the specialty side, Meryl Streep's "The Iron Lady" opened to $221,752 from four theaters in New York and Los Angeles for a very impressive per-screen average of $55,438. The film, however, only has a 57% fresh rating.

Meanwhile, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" opened in limited release to be eligible for Oscars. The film, starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, grossed another $106,000 from six theaters and will expand soon. Unfortunately, it has a lousy 53% fresh rating.

I hated the storyline but the movie itself is a lot better than I thought it would be.

it had good action scenes but at other times it was too cliche and the last act had a cheesy james bond feeling...

I wouldn't underestimate The War Horse Band, $45 mil since Christmas day isn't to shabby at all.

Tin Tin was never gonna fly in the US anyway but else where it's not done to bad, Part 2 to follow.

Glad Tom Cruise finally has a hit on his hands. They were gonna write him off after this.

I'm still gonna watch them both.Just feel that Spielberg is not trying his best

Don't think Spielberg will ever get back that unbelievable run he had from the mid 70's to the late 80's, He made some of the biggest and best films of that time.

For me he gets involved with too much outside of just the film he's working on, instead why not take 2 years out and try and make a great film again.

Seen Tin Tin and it's not bad, But from the guy that made Duel,Jaws, Raiders, Close Encounters and ET is not bad really good enough.
