"Blade Runner 2" Announcement Coming SoonSubmit Comment
Warner Bros has been in talks with Ridley Scott to direct a follow-up to his "Blade Runner" film. Writers have been pitching their takes and just recently the studio registered a website domain name for the new film.

Now, producer Andrew Kosove has revealed that things are moving quickly and that an official announcement will be made within the next couple of month. "I believe it's an extremely high priority for Ridley, that's what he's said to me," he explained. "This project is moving forward aggressively in development."

Kosove added: "Sometime in the first two months of the new year we'll announce who the screenwriter will be and whether or not it's a prequel or sequel. And then we'll be off to the races."

And as previously reported, there is no plan to bring back Harrison Ford even though Scott has revealed that the film will likely be a sequel.

I say they wait till Prometheus comes out and whether it proves to be Ridley Scott in top form, before they move forward.

Sounds like a decent idea, I guess, but how abou re-title it? Blade Runner 2? No thanks. Better title. And it of course won't be the same without Ford, but I expect a cameo from him at least, but they had better hurry because he's a top contender in the celebrity death pool, I regret to say.

Man, today's news seems to be all about sequels and reboots. Yum, nothing like Hollywood leftovers.

Makes me sad cultmovies which are getting raped by reboots remakes and other pointless bs.
Hollywood probably made a movie for every idea?
I blame adam sandler

CD_SMITH, pretty sure the studio is happy with Prometheus or they wouldn't be okay with this.

Blade Runner 2? Is this a good idea? Would any tell me please if the first Blade Runner movie was that good enough to warrant a sequel?

Good Enough? The movie is pure perfection. It's needs to be left alone.
