James Marsden Wants "Cyclops" Spin-Off Movie

James Marsden Wants "Cyclops" Spin-Off MovieSubmit Comment
In an interview with ET Online, James Marsden spoke about play Scott Summers/Cyclops in the first three "X-Men" movie and how he believes the "X-Men" leaded deserves his own spin-off film.

"Because there were so many cast members in this 90 minute movie, there was never enough time to give him the depth that other characters had," he said. "The first movie was really Wolverine's saga - and the second and third as well."

He added: "I don't think his character was ever fleshed out as much as I would have liked. I may have also been a bit on the young side for those films. If I could go back and put on the glasses and suit again where we do a film to learn more about the character, that's the one I would pick. He's ripe for that."

Yeah, and that dead guy from 'Weekend At Bernie's 'wants a prequel.

Leaded? Do you mean 'lead'? And how was Cyclops the lead? Everyone f*cking knew and knows Wolverine was the X-Men centerpiece. Always was, always will be.

And he got killed by a *woman*. p*ssy!

"He's ripe for that."

No, you're ripe. Take a bath, loser.

He knows he'd get recasted by a younger dude, right? It'd end up being a prequel starring Justin Bieber or something

this guy is lacking screen presence and charisma.Just another pretty boy in Hollywood.he was just there to be a supporting actor.Dont even think Cyclops got his own comic book.

he was pretty funny in that movie Sex Drive though.

Just make a sequel and ignore all the things earner tucker up and keep what worked. Go all superman on this franchise. They never 100% showed he was dead so they can bring Cyclops back. Make prof. X's consciousness get taken out of the kid, maybe make it stored in a computer that can talk using Patrick stewarts voice. Maybe even set up holographic projector systems around the school so he can still be interacting in scenes. Make storms part smaller, she got too big in the last one. Bring beast in as the new day to day director of the school with storm staying on as just a teacher. Have wolverine recruit gambit to the team, but while doing so there is a miscommunication that causes a short but sweet battle between the two. Make the cure backfire and make the mutants come back even more powerful which was hinted at by magneto at end of 3rd movie. This can also explain how rouge comes back, and come back with the new ability to fly. Have her and wolverine recruit jubalie(spelling?) As well and have rouge mentor her through the next few movies. That's just the start. I got more ideas

'I don't think his character was ever fleshed out as much as I would have liked.' --- who cares what you like meat puppet? You want a Cyclops stand-alone movie, go produce one and find a distributor.

f*ck off.
FBO writes:

I have a better idea, reboot the whole damn series and keep fox, bryan singer, and marvel away from the project.

theres really only three characters in X-men that are worthy of a spin-off Magneto, professor xavier and Wolverine.. they been done now the only thing they should be doin is sequels to these spin-offs or just leave the franchise alone.... Cyclops is a bitch compared to them lot but what would really be funny is if they did the film and didnt give the part to him.

The only X men movie I want is 'Magneto:Nazi Hunter',take that kick ass argnetina bar scene from 'first class' and make a 120 minutes movie similiar to that where magneto just kills nazis.he can start with lars von trier.

The only XZMEN
rocketman writes:
on December 23rd, 2011 at 3:17:37 AM

Bollocks,start again.

The only XMEN film i want is a complete Marvel reboot based on the original comics with the original team. Iceman.Angle,Beast,Cyclops, prof and Jean...no Wolverine until part 3.
First Class was a big improvement on the previous 3 though.
elrei writes:

Not into comic books, so the only reference that I have from X Men are the 90' animation (which was awesome) and the movies. And I've never tough of Cyclops as a leader. He's like a number 3 right after Xavier and Logan.
KillerSniper45 writes:

James Marsden for a Cyclops spin-off? Why not if the script is good. You people should be positive for once. Make it like 1990's DC's The Flash. It was an awesome series for a DC superhero. Make him like an action star. That would be good.
nriq writes:

Surely they would pick Zac Efron to star on a prequel... Yuck!
Mudders writes:

@ mink

i think the "leaded" part was suppose to say "leader"

but yeah...no spin off here
MagnetoWasRight writes:
on December 24th, 2011 at 2:50:09 AM

Well, if any x-man deserves a movie it's probably Cyclops.
He's not only the x-men's team leader, but x-force, the new mutants, and Hope's "lights" all answer to him, as well as x-factor (to a certain extent...) for missions/targets and orders since the mutant population was dropped to under 200 world wide.
Hell, even Magneto follows Cyclops lead these days. There's plenty of material (past and present) to make a great Cyclops movie, but..... this spin-off will sadly never happen.
minkowski writes:
on December 27th, 2011 at 2:10:31 PM

"i think the "leaded" part was suppose to say "leader""

Quite right, but leader, lead, Cyclops was neither.

when i used to read the comics or watch the cartoons i always thought cyclops was the head honcho...much like leonardo from tmnt or cap from avengers....could be me though
