Clark Gable's Secret Daughter Dead at 76

Judy Lewis, the secret daughter of actors Clark Gable (Gone With the Wind) and Loretta Young, has passed away at the age of 76, leaving behind a story of Hollywood stars whose fame was more important than their daughter.

Loretta Young was 22-years-old while shooting the 1935 film "The Call of the Wild," where she met her 34-year-old co-star Clark Gable. The two went on to have a brief secret affair that ended with Young becoming pregnant. To protect their careers, the two decided it was best for Young to move to Europe during the pregnancy to avoid Hollywood gossip.

When Lewis was born, she was immediately handed over to a series of caretakers so Young could return to stardom. When Lewis became 19-months-old, her mother brought her home and announced to newspapers that she adopted a child. The truth was not only hidden from the world, but also from Lewis.

By the age of 7, Lewis' ears started to stick out and resemble Gable's ears. Young would dress her daughter in bonnets to hide them and then paid to have the ears surgically altered to make them less prominent.

Despite this being a secret, it was common knowledge that Young was Lewis' birth mother and Gable was her father. In fact, she was already an adult when her fiancee told her of the rumor, prompting Lewis to find out the truth. But by the time all the facts came out, it was too late. Her relationship with her mother was rocky and her relationship with Gable was non-existent, despite the fact that Lewis was his only child while he was alive.

Later on in her life, Lewis admitted that "Call of the Wild" is one of her favorite movies, because she gets to see her parents together. The love scenes "show the love they feel for each other." She went on to say that it was her dream to see Young and Gable get married and bring her up as part of a normal family. "I would have liked them to have," she said. "But that is just my dream, you know. Life is very strange. Doesn't give us what we want."

Two idiocentric c*nts if you ask me (Gable and Young, I mean). Bummer that their unrelenting self-serving ways came at the expense of sweeping their lovechild under the rug like the mangled carcass of a c*ckroach.

Ranger, I'm sure even you treat your bastards with more class.

What story will come out next - did Gable secretly pull a Jefforson on "Mammy" behind the scenes? (Pulling a brown bag on a brown bag, so to speak.)

CORRECTION: "JEFFERSON on 'Mammy'..."

Ranger's idea of class is referring to the 'special happy no-no place' as 'Paris' before taking a first-class trip there.

Welllllll, Susan Smith drowned her children by shoving the car in which they were sitting into a nice, refreshing lake, and then compounded her future long dexcent into hell by blaming a black man, so yeah, you can go a bit lower, I'm afraid, especially in the good old US of A, where life is just another asset or liability.

Sad story..... It reminds me the other day of American Horror Story, episode 9, in how Elizabeth Short became famous, only by been mutilated..... This world is really sad, always wanting something the never is going to became ture and when always recognition becames reality is at the expenses of tragedy or loss. I hate you f*cking world!!!!!

I wonder if Gable and Young are ignoring their love child in the after-world?

Either way... frankly, I don't give a damn.

c-prime: it wasn't the fault of the bio parents. It was society & just how evil they were about 'gossip'. The bio parents would have been so chastised for giving birth to a 'bastard' that the parents would have been destroyed forever!!
Know your history before clobbering due to lack of knowledge!! TIMES HAVE CHANGED! IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW!!! AND U SURE DIDN'T.
