Michael Fassbender in Talks for Darren Aronofsky's R-Rated Noah's Ark Film

Michael Fassbender in Talks for Darren AronofskySubmit Comment
Darren Aronofsky was recently happy to report that Paramount Pictures and New Regency teamed up to fund his $130 million biblical epic "Noah." He offered the lead role to Christian Bale, but Variety is now reporting that the actor passed on starring in the film.

So now that Bale is out, the director is now targeting Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class). While Fassbender has yet to receive an official offer, he already met with Aronofsky to discuss the part.

Aronofsky wrote the script for "Noah," but handed re-writing duties to John Logan (The Last Samurai, Gladiator). The new R-rated film is set to begin shooting this spring.

Noah is from the Bible? So its okay to bastardize something that was taken out of the Bible? I mean seriously?

Well he is a good choice as Bale's replacement but I think they need to just stick with steve carrell as Noah.

I wonder if theyre gonna do the movie titanic style by going to Mt. Arrarat or wutevr and tell the story from there.i would see that

Rated R sounds cool hopefully that means theyll show orgies and rapes from around the world prompting the flood
Bullit writes:

It should be by definiton R-rated. It is violent and tragic all along the story from the beginning until the end.

Animal/people orgy scene on the ark then?

Yes.

"I mean seriously?"

Seriously.

You are upset with the R rating now?....just wait for the undated blu ray and dvd. Deleted and extended scenes too hot for theaters. Noah deals with the tragic loss of his wife at see and begins to have incest with his own daughter who is a virgin very gorey scene(for you ofcourse ranger). Followed by extended scenes showing just exactly how each animal was allowed to come on board the ark....Noah giving them all a thorough once over to check for overall health. Then he says he needs to take they're temperature.....analy.....with his d*ck. Can you say....SPOILER!

Unrated not undated* and sea not see*

Sounds like vincere01 and Ranger have something going for Fassbender and Donkeys hooking up.

The script will make or break this film- the Bible has very little to say about Noah's life before the flood, except that it took him some 50 odd years to build the old canoe and he was a 'righteous man'- which can be taken very liberally today. I think so much improve will be licensed that it'll break from epicness and turn more towards ludeness.

See above comment. Guh. Shame really.

The original Sumerian myth is a hell of a lot more detailed and interesting than the nonsense of Noah.
minkowski writes:

And why the hell is he aiming for an R-rating?

It's Noah. Not much happened. It rained. He built a boat. He loaded up some animals.

Not a lot of room for violent gun battles and pornography. perhaps him and the eife do the double-ended dildo dance with the sheep.

Who the f*ck knows. He's shooting himself in the ass, though, by going for an R when no one's going to see the film anyway.

Religious people won't, and even the atheists are far too jaded and cynical to be taken in by Darren's post-modern deconstruction of what most people genially accept as either whole-cloth fable or wild-eyed exaggeration.
Cinemaisdead writes:

Of course its R rated: God massacres the whole human race including little kids, Noahs kids have insestual sex to repopulate the human race, cats and dogs living together in harmony.

Killersniper- Bastardise the Bible? I hate to be the one that breaks this to you but the Bible was written by a few guys many years ago and rewritten for Kings as time went by to suit them... Gods not real and Jesus probably didn't exist... oh and incase you didn't know Santa and the Tooth Fairy... they aint real either. I know this might be a hard day for you.

Aranananananofofofoskys gone too far this time, he should ditch the budget and go back to cinematic masterpieces like Pi. Nuff said.

"God massacres the whole human race including little kids, Noahs kids have insestual sex to repopulate the human race"

Big deal. I've been shocked more just by finding phallic shaped buildings in Disney's The Little Mermaid (rated G).

And besides, value-oriented family-friendly Christians have been demanding people of all ages read the Bible, with it's rape and death and incest and murder, for centuries.

^And they wonder why the world is full of so many messed up people... course if they do something wrong they can just pray for forgiveness.

For a guy who didn't win the Oscar, he is sure getting a ton of work.

Not that I'm complaining but I thought Christop Waltz would be the actor in every other movie.
minkowski writes:

I always thought the world was f*cked up because women don't put out enough. That's what I blame it on. Not enough you know what to go around.
Cain writes:

Why do an R-Rated Noah movie??????

King David, his son Solomon, and Samson are the best R-Rated guys in the Bible.

All of these guys had sex with hundreds of women according to the Bible.
Johnnyb writes:

Since this is Aronofsky´s vision of the famous tale of Noah´s Ark..... You can expect a lot of sex, bestiality, zoophilia, incest and other stuff..... I wonder what God will think about this!!!!!
