"South Park" Renewed Through 2016, Will Reach 20th SeasonSubmit Comment
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a new deal with Comedy Central to extend "South Park," cable's longest-running animated series, for three additional seasons. This means that the award-winning series will remain on television through 2016 and will reach its 20th season.

Parker and Stone will continue to write, direct and edit every episode of "South Park," as they have since the premiere of the series in 1997. "Comedy Central has been our home for 15 years and we love working there," said Parker and Stone. "'South Park' is a blast and we can't wait to make more."

Michele Ganeless, the president of Comedy Central, added: "The collective genius of Matt and Trey knows no bounds. Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight 'South Park' fans. We're thrilled that the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman will continue through 2016."

Big fan of this show but its hit or miss now. I don't like how every episode has to be about some current event or some secret meaning. Early episodes were better.

I actually thought they were about to end it, since the latest episodes have hinted heavily on that. Would be nice to see it end before it wears out its welcome, but on the other hand, more South Park.
