Full Length "The Hunger Games" Trailer is Here!Submit Comment
Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for "The Hunger Games," based on the best-selling novel and starring Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: First Class), Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. Check it out below.

Plot: The film chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl, forced to participate in the annual "Hunger Games," a fight-to-the-death live televised event. Katniss Everdeen's little sister is chosen in the lottery to participate and Katniss volunteers to take her place. Although persevering through hardship is commonplace for Katniss (Lawrence), she must start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.

"The Hunger Games" is directed by Gary Ross (Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and co-stars Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Harrelson. It is set to hit theaters on March 23rd, 2012.

Looks suprisingly good. What is it with this film and the Snow white film actually looking good?

Trailer Trash

Is that Pippa's stunt double in that picture?

By the way I heard she is single.

Bleh...

Looks dramatically generic – another movie for teens, about teens, that takes itself WAY too seriously. Also, this this faux docudrama shaky-came bullsh*t that, apparently, has become the default standard for filming movies these days. Please stop.

Oh, and one other thing: BATTLE f*cking ROYALE!!! ...own it on bluray, no point watching this PG-13 lesser version.

I liked it better when it was made twice before.

Meh...it looks retarded. Basically it's the running man but with kids instead of arnold.

Battle Royale took about 4 to 5 mins before the slaughtering started. They weren't trained, they were not of aware of the lottery.

This feels like the killing will start half way into the movie and focus too much on this chick's backstory.

For a movie to be based on people killing each other the only thing I have to say is "Less talk and more rock."

I'll download this just for Jennifer Lawrence.

Looks good to me! And not nearly as much like Battle Royale as I thought it would.
freepass76 writes:

I agree with Boogie, it is RUNNING MAN without Arnold, but since this time it is with kids, they need some training!

Since the trailer doesn´t show too much about the plot but got interested me in the last seconds. But if this one is well executed and the action sequences are well designed it, then maybe just maybe we got here the next Harry Potter franchise, is not the case then this franchise is already dead!!!!!
SeWerin writes:

Twilight meets Battle Royal....hmmmmmm

But the cast is pretty good.

I'm not sure. Looks PG-13ish

Jesus, read the book, then make your comparisons to Battle Royalle, which was okay at best. If you get down to it, Battle Royalle is just Highlander (there can be only one), only sped up and with no ultimate prize at the end. Hunger Games has a lot to say about modern society in addition to being a story that works on many levels and has appealed to demographics accross the board. And it also looks like one of the most faithful adaptations in recent memory, which should make fans of the book very happy. Anyway. I recommend the book highly.
