Eddie Murphy Resigns as Oscars Host

Posted: November 9th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Eddie Murphy Resigns as Oscars HostSubmit Comment
After making an offensive comment, Brett Ratner was asked to resign as a producer of the 84th Academy Awards. The director did just that, leaving many wondering if Eddie Murphy will stay on as the host of the show since Ratner was the one who brought Murphy on board.

Now comes word that Murphy has decided to step down as well. "I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop," said Murphy. "But I'm sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job."

The academy President Tom Sherak responded, stating: "I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well."

No replacements have been announced. But during a recent interview for "Happy Feet 2," Robin Williams was asked whether he would be interested in hosting the event again. "Never. Oh, no. I've done that gig," he said, adding that Billy Crystal may consider taking the job.

Hope he told The Academy that "hosting is for fags."

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

This is as great a career movie for the failing Eddie as VanDouche turning down Sly for the first Expendables.

So Eddie, you're loyal to a guy that's getting BLACKlisted (pun intended) in Hollywood? Good move!

Hey Eddie... here's a box of nails to finish off your coffin, you stupid sh*t!

Ratner was probably the only person involved with the Oscars that even wanted Eddie Murphy to host in the first place.

And with him gone, Eddie probably realized that there wouldn't be a single person involved with the production of the show that didn't think that he was a bottom of the barrel has-been whose biggest claim to fame in the last decade is his ability to lose money at the box office.

Murphy's a jerk and probably the only people that worked with him at Saturday Night Live that don't have tons of story about him being a complete ass before and after he got famous, were the other African American SNL cast members throughout the years...

Maybe they will get Eddie Murphy to put on a fat suit and pretend he really isn't himself. Or how about Adam Sandler dressed as a woman.

Eddie who??
Bouk writes:

I would actually pay to watch the show if they got Lindsay Lohan to host the show. Let her get drunk and stoned beforehand (and maybe even during).

Looks like Eddie Murphy is backing down from the one recent role people might actually laugh at him for.

Hell, for 1/3rd of the price (and four times the laughs), they could just rent Charlie Murphy to host. God knows Chuck needs the work.

Why not just hire Joe Paterno ? He recently got fired and boy, I bet he's got some amusing antedotes.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

You know why Eddie Murphy always has that sh*t eating grin on his face ?

Because for years, he's been eating sh*t just to get on film .... seems like those fag jokes he made on Raw seem to hit closer to home (concerning his latest series of bombs).
nawtnt writes:

It seems Eddie Murphy's comeback may fall into pieces.

If he isn't going to host the Oscars then the producers should bring in Shia LeBeouf, Lindsay Lohan and Tom Hardy where maybe LeBeouf and Hardy have a remtach fight live on TV.

Since Shia was showing off that he beated up Bane, I think a fight between Shia and Hardy might be good televsion.

Just imagine Shia screaming like a girl and saying "NOOOOO!" just like he does Transformers movies live on air and Hardy breaks his back like Batman.

Well, it's my opinon of a good idea since the producers are still worrying about the ratings of the last year's Oscars.

Did anyone see Tower Heist? Eddie was actually pretty funny in it. He doesnt work for Disney anymore so I thought this might be a good addition to his comeback. Say what you want to say about Ratner's PC insensativities, he still made 2 minorities 2 of the highest paid actors in Hwood. If Eddie can reconnect with his inner 25 yo he can be a viable heavyweight in the industry again.
