Live-Action "WhereSubmit Comment
MGM has announced that it has acquired film rights to bring "Where's Waldo?" to the big screen in a live-action family adventure. "We look forward to making a worldwide adventure that will appeal to 'Where's Waldo?' fans of all ages," said the studio.

Created by Martin Handford and first published in 1987, "Where's Waldo?" is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. With more than 55 million books sold worldwide, "Where's Waldo?" books are available in more than thirty-eight countries and have been translated into more than thirty languages. "Where's Waldo?" has also sold more than 4.6+ million Apps for iPhone and iPad.

Back in 2009, Universal Pictures was working on a live-action "Where's Waldo?" film, but the project eventually fell apart. MGM believes that it can accomplish what Universal couldn't.

The only way to get it done is to have waldo be some teen that runs away from home and at first gets the whole city, then the state (or whatever), then country, and then the world looking for him, I'd imagine it could be done in the style of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

Why is this necessary?

And now they want to make movie about him. Who gives a sh*t...he suppose to be invisible/unseen. Keep him that way!

I'd much rather see a live action "Magic School Bus" movie. With Christina Hendricks playing that kooky teacher.

I'd be down for that.

waldo will be about a stuck up kid who stumbles into some ultra-sensitive sh*t info. from there the bloody terrorists and the fbi will be after him...hence where's waldo coz he'll be blending in with the crown. he'll then stand up to the task, kill the baddies, get the girl (who's the same geeky looking girl as he is named walda) and clear his name. they should get shia to play this then
