Teaser: Is This the Next "Paranormal Activity" Franchise?Submit Comment
After Paramount's "Paranormal Activity 3" opened to $52 million on a $5 million budget, other studios launched a bidding war for "Grim Night," a spec script written by Brandon Bestenheider and Allen Bey.

This was the plan when the story was being conceived. And to give the project a little extra, the script came with a teaser trailer that was put together specifically to help with the sale. Universal Pictures ended up outbidding everyone.

"Grim Night" revolves around strange creatures that come out one night every year to attack Earth and kill thousands, targeting different places with no one knowing why. The story centers on a family in small town America that gets attacked and has to defend themselves.

Check out the teaser below.

Captain:

The previous film called Aliens Vs Predators already made this in 2008. So this would be another ripoff? Do another original movie.

Have you seen Aliens Vs Predators? It's nothing like it. Is it because alien beings are killing humans? That's the premise of almost all horror movies.

Seems way more interesting than PA. Reminds me of the Feast-movies, somehow.

it actually looks good.

but it might blow hard - i dont see them actually giving a good backstory to this.

I'm usually not to thrilled about horror movies made in the last 20 years, but this actually looks pretty good.

As someone said earlier, this looks a whole lot better than Paranormal Activity.

What I like about this concept is if they make it an annual franchise they can change the scale and scope with each movie, bringing different perspectives of horror.

Count me in. Looks a hell of a lot scarier than Paranormal Activity.

Looks a tad like "The Village", except everybody acknowledges that they are living in present day.
