First Reviews of Steven Spielberg's "Tintin"

First Reviews of Steven SpielbergSubmit Comment
Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin" is set to hit theaters in the US on December 21st, but will be playing in Europe later this month. As a result, the first early reviews are now appearing online and we have them for you below.

The overall consensus is that "Tintin" is a great film. It's fully entertaining and better than other performance capture movies. Nobody had anything really negative to say, but some admitted that they were expecting more from Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson.

* The Hollywood Reporter: First "Tintin" installment takes Steven Spielberg back to his fun-filled, visually splendid roots.

* Empire (8/10): Action-packed, gorgeous, and faithfully whimsical.

* WhatCulture (8/10): Spielberg has crafted a fantastical 3D adventure which is by turns visually stunning, thrilling, sophisticated, silly, and a whole lot of fun.

* TotalFilm (6/10): An adventure that's serviceable but doesn't reach out and grab you as often as you'd expect.

* Telegraph (6/10): Steven Spielberg's 3D adaptation of the Herge classic lacks a twinkle in the eye.

* Guardian (4/10): Steven Spielberg's ghostly Tintin is best left on the page.

* EntertainmentFocus (8/10): A major success and one that I heartily recommend.

* DigitalSpy (8/10): Top notch entertainment and miles ahead of its performance capture predecessors.

After this, they should make The Seven Crystal Balls or The Calculus Affair. Those were the greatest stories of Tintin ever told!!!!!

Should have made a live action film!

@Johnny B

100% agree with you. I wonder who's gonna play colonel sponz and I'd love to see Haddock's interaction with Llamas.

Should have made it 2D.

But i'll wait for audience response. Professional critics usually like to suck Spielberg's di*k

'Action-packed, gorgeous, and faithfully whimsical.' --- sounds like me!

* Guardian (4/10): Steven Spielberg's ghostly Tintin is best left on the page. --- so Putzman is working for Guardian now?

Reviewer... stick your 4/10 up your ass and twist sharply. Most of the reviews are 8/10 and you're the go-against-the-grain, never hugged enough as a child, duct taped to the flagpole every recess, last kid picked for any teams, loser.

Should send Agent Coulson in to KICK YOUR ASS!!!
