George Lucas' company Lucasfilm has unveiled a brand new poster for the upcoming WWII drama "Red Tails," starring Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, Method Man, and Ne-Yo. The poster was designed for attendees of this year's NYCC, but you can check it out below.

Plot: World War II rages and the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. Meanwhile the black pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program are courageously waging two wars at once – one against enemies overseas, and the other against discrimination within the military and back home.

"Red Tails" is directed by Anthony Hemingway ("CSI: NY") and is set to hit theaters on January 20th, 2012.

What did the Germans do to the black people to Call them Nazi dogs?they still went Through racism until the late 90s in America.

This movie is a bigger budgeted version of the HBO movie also starring Cuba.

Don't see why Lucas is attached to this like is some magical movie.is definitely not Glory with Denzel

We do know The Tuskegee Airman went through hell to get the honor to fight for a country that needed them, but didn't want them. I HOPE George shoves artistic license right up his fat ass this time and shows the memories of these men the proper respect and portrays their stories accurately. This should be another glorified Tombstone (which I enjoyed) or Titanic with a friggen love story attached. I know both those movies were not doc*mentaries, but still...

PS: was it Whitey's idea to paint the tails of their planes RED?! May as well painted a bulls-eye on the c*ckpit glass!

I think it looks pretty fun. People give Lucas sh*t for “flogging the dead horse that is Star Wars”. When he does something different like this, he gets sh*t for it all the same. No win.

Anyways, this will probably be an extremely simple story with wholesome characters and lots of aerial combat action, which is just fine with me. I do agree the Airmen in question should be depicted with respect to real life history, but I don’t imagine the filmmakers involved (including Lucas) plan on having them kill Hitler or fly their planes into the center of a Nazi Death Star.

Maybe not. But the Nazi Death Star idea would be pretty kewl.

Looks gay and boring. Getting sick of all these black pride movies. Can we at least get one for us? Are we not allowed to have pride in our race anymore?

Looks like someone is trying to draw like Joe Kubert .... hell, maybe they got some failing kids from the Kubert School of Comic Book Art to do this as a project so Lucas doesn't have to schill out any more money (other than to piss off Star Wars fans by placing "Noooooooooooo! " where it doesn't need to be.)
Ranger writes:

@Max - I noticed the Kubert style right off the bat too. But, that's his signature at the bottom alright. Is he still around (alive)?

Yes, I guess he is:

Nice for them to use Kubert. I read ton's of comics that man drew. He's classic.
