"Thor 2" Confirms Director, Gets New Release DateSubmit Comment
Marvel Studios has confirmed today that "Monster" director Patty Jenkins will helm "Thor 2," which will bring back Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston. Jenkins also directed the pilot episode of AMC's "The Killing" series, for which she got an Emmy nomination. She also directed episodes of "Entourage and "Arrested Development."

Disney has also announced that it needed to move some things around in order to squeeze in other films, Johnny Depp's "The Lone Ranger." As a result "Thor 2" has been pushed back from July 26th, 2013 to November 15th, 2013.

The first "Thor" movie hit theaters in May of 2011 and ended up grossing $448 million on a $150 million budget.

Well, it's too bad branagh didn't come back. She better delivers and not messing up the sequel.

Big mistake! How stupid do they have to be to get Patty Jenkins as director? I loved Kenneth Branagh's Thor and now this is going down the drain! Idiots!

a woman?she will probably make Thor an emotional bitch that spends half the movie taking it in the ass from natalie portman.

agree with Rambo, Branagh did such a great job with the first movie I recently watched it again it's awesome and a lot of fun to watch. This Bitch will screw it up :( and to all of you who think: Give her a chance wait for the movie... I can only say: SHE is a WOMAN!!!! She should direct lesbian porn! not Allmighty THOR! which could be also the name of a porno BUT my point is, it is scientifically proven that woman lack of imaginative abilities. A woman couldnt have come up with the robot ass kicking scenes in Transformers, a woman couldnt have come up with the Terminator or Jurassic Park or whatever f*ckin visually important film there is out there, please prove me wrong. THIS IS f*ckIN THOR!!! Unless a director has some Balls he cannot direct THOR. If Patty f*cking Jenkins has some Balls in her pants... SHOW THEM! Then we can calm down.

Thor is the best comic book movie of the year along with X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The First Avenger.

I think Chris Hemsworth was the right and he did a amazing job as Thor.

The cast did a good job and Kenneth Branagh made a awesome comic book movie.

I am sad that Branagh isn't returning to direct Thor, at least maybe he might produce Thor 2.

I don't think Patty Jenkins isn't a right choice to direct Thor 2 but it's Marvel's decision so let's hope Jenkins does a good job and this sequel works out well.
