Hugh Jackman Says Two Versions of "Wolverine 2" May Be Shot

Hugh Jackman Says Two Versions of "Wolverine 2" May Be ShotSubmit Comment
MTV caught up with Hugh Jackman to talk about the upcoming "Wolverine" sequel. Since Jackman has been saying that the goal is to make it more violent and dark, MTV asked if there is a chance the film may end up being R-rated.

"There's such great temptation to make an R-rated 'Wolverine.' I've always felt that," said the actor. "I know a lot of fans would like that. I totally get it. If there was ever a superhero that was going to be R-rated, it's Wolverine."

Jackman continued: "However, in the last ten years, I've also met many, many 12, 13, dare I say 10, 14, 15 year-olds who, for them, Wolverine is not just cool, you see it in their eyes. He's everything to them. So my thing is which [director] James Mangold and I talked about is let's not put it off the table. There's even a talk of us doing two versions, as in finding a way for us to do both as you shoot it, which could be really cool. But you need to have a really good reason to exclude those fans."

There is no way 20th Century Fox would ever release an R-rated "Wolverine" in theaters, but it may be interesting to get a theatrical and unrated version of the film on DVD/Blu-ray.

How about doing any versions that don't suck?

Like Thomas Jane on rent day.

Pussies. Why don't you release the sand from your vaginas and fund it your selves. Give the fans what they want. Show the studios that these characters are badass. Why do you think blade was so successful. Excluding the third one of course.

The other version will be for nawtnt, with Orlando Bloom starring in it instead. Because he's way better than Jackman...

Hugh Jackman seems to do nothing but talk about this movie. Have they even finished the script yet?

"If there was ever a superhero that was going to be R-rated, it's Wolverine."

No Jackman. That would be Blade, Spawn, The Darkness, Hellboy and then MAYBE Wolverine.

But i admire your enthusiasm bro

i think he is still pissed about the workprint what got leaked on the the 1st movie lol.
in stead of doing 2 version why not do either 2 and 3 or do an eidted version for kids and do an 18 or r rated film for the adults

or maybe a cool bluray
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:

Really? You better prove it , mate. I'd rather choose Punisher than wolverine as R-rated movie.

2 versions. A crappy one and a crappy director's cut.

I will agree that Wolverine is too mainstreamed at this point in the kid-zone to get an R film. Plus with Jackman in the role, an R Wolverine just wouldn't be believable.
You want an R rated hero movie, go with The Authority. You put that on film and you got yourself some R-rated material.
the books are superb. You have a Batman-esque character how can think millions of moves ahead how is in a gay relationship with another member who is a sort of Superman take how get his powers from the sun. There's a Shaman how is the next in a long line of predecessors who just happens to be a recovering heroine addict. A girl who has substituted her blood for liquid metal nanites who is nude damn near 24 x 7. There are other members but those are def the ones that push the boundaries. I would love to see The Authority on the big screen but it will never happen.

Two versions would be awesome, I mean Ridley Scott is planning to make a PG-13 and a R rated verison for Prothemus.
