"Real Steel" Takes First Place at Box OfficeSubmit Comment
Hugh Jackman's "Real Steel" robot boxing movie topped the domestic box office with $27 million, grossing another $22 million overseas, for a worldwide total of $49 million. The film cost approximately $110 million to make and will likely have a difficult time making back its budget. It has a 59% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.

George Clooney's "The Ides of March" had to settle for second place with $10.4 million, which is below predictions, but enough to become profitable since the film cost only $12.5 million to make. It has an 82% fresh rating.

On the specialty side, "The Human Centipede 2" grossed $54,000 from late-night shows at 18 theaters. And Emilio Estevez's "The Way" grossed $132,411 from 33 locations.

Doesn't take much to be Number 1 now does it.

These last few months have been really bad film wise.

Only decent movie on the article is "The Ides of March"

Great news, Real Steel seems like a good movie.

@Dave

What Dave said, only other movie worth seeing is Ides of March... and thats only cause Drive isn't out in my local theater anymore. Which pissed me off quite a bit when i planned to see it again... considering nothing else is out.

I will never watch these turds of movies especially REAL Steel

@Dre-El

Nope, it's pretty fvcking horrible.

Movies that start in limited release choose theatres very carefully to hit their audience precisely and get the best possible per-screen average.

$3000 per theatre at 18 locations is a fail.

I saw "Real Steel" Saturday night, and for what itz worth it was actually pretty good. I mean it won't win the "Best Picture" Oscar or anything but it was pretty decent. Itz worth checking out.
