Tom Cruise in Talks for "We Mortals Are" Sci-Fi Epic

Tom Cruise in Talks for "We Mortals Are" Sci-Fi EpicSubmit Comment
Last month we learned that Warner Bros and director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) were in talks with Brad Pitt for the "Groundhog Day"-style time-travel action film called "All You Need is Kill," based on the 2004 Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

Now comes word that the studio has also offered the role to Tom Cruise and that the title has been changed to "We Mortals Are." If the actor takes the job, he will have two big-budget sci-fi films in the works. The other one is Joseph Kosinski's sci-fi epic "Horizons."

"We Mortals Are" centers on a new recruit in a war against aliens who finds himself caught in a time loop in which he wakes up in the past after having been killed on the battlefield. As the soldier's death and resurrection repeat, his skills as a soldier grow as he attempts to change his fate.

Way to f*ck up a Japanese novel by putting Alisters on it

Unless Cruise makes a Les Grossman movie then I'm not interested

Like the original title more. And even though I like both Cruise and Pitt they strike me as too old for this part. A new recruit should not be pushing 50.

If they put Pitt it can be saved but with Cruise is another stuff..... Totally f*cked up in B. O.!!!!!

Classic Tom Cruise pic.

You can tell he had just injected himself with Thetan serum, and probably consumed an infant baby’s brain ...right before stepping out of the limo.

Good ol’ Tom Cruise: still Hollywood’s No. 1 batsh*t motherf*cker.

Too bad NBC has blocked the video for these...

But the actor nailed Tom Cruise (imitated, not in his ass... but, who knows?).

Cruise OR Pitt!

it does not matter because either way this movie is going to be GREAT! cant wait.

but... i have to agree and say if its about a new YOUNG recruit then maybe it should be a role for shia labeouf or chris hemsworth

I love sci fi but there are so many original ideas out there why make another film that sounds like source code but instead of finding a bomb and bad rom com actress you have to become a bettter soldier!
