Christoph Waltz Hurt on Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" Set

Christoph Waltz Hurt on Quentin TarantinoSubmit Comment
Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) has reteamed with director Quentin Tarantino for "Django Unchained," but was recently forced to put out of a promotional appearance at the NY Film Festival after falling off a horse.

"Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role," a spokesperson said. "He is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone."

In the movie, Django (Jamie Foxx) is a slave who is liberated by a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter (Waltz) and taught the tricks of the trade by his mentor. Django's major goal in life is to recover his wife (Kerry Washington), and to do it he needs to get past the villainous ranch owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), who runs Candyland, a despicable club and plantation in Mississippi where female slaves are exploited as sex objects and males are pitted against each other in death matches. Candyland is a slave's worst nightmare, and that is where Django's wife Broomhilda is an abused slave.

I hope Kurt Russell gets in on this movie. I loved Death Proof. This will definately be good as well.

Jamie Foxx? What happened to Will Smith? Neither seem right for the role. If it weren't for Ray I wouldn't think Jamie had any acting talent. This would have been a perfect part for Idris. WTF Tarantino?!?!

Ray is probably Foxx's best dramatic performance.would of gone with Larenz Tate or Anthony Mackie but they're not A listers so they're f*cked

@SAC - true. Note when actors are playing a person from real life, the respect they give their work. Look at Gary Busey in Buddy Holly... stellar! As for this latest movie... I'll watch because Tarantino went way up in my book for Inglourious Basterds. Waltz, Pitt and everyone in that movie was just amazing. I liked it a LOT more than I was expecting to.

As for: 'where female slaves are exploited as sex objects and males are pitted against each other in death matches.' --- sounds like a bar I was a doorman at in the late 80's.

Really Tarantino? you couldn't do any better that BROOMHILDA for his wife's name? that name wasn't even good in the lame comic strip, its not cool for your movie.i fear a Shyamalan is on the horizon.

Gary Busey in Buddy Holly... stellar

Couldn't agree more mate and C.M Smith was very good as well

C. M. Smith really throws his little self into his roles: StarMan, The Untouchables, etc. For his commitment alone he's good to watch.

cant see jamie foxx in that part at all! I think it lends itself more to Djimon Hounsou.
