Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay in Talks to Direct "Twilight Zone" Movie

Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay in Talks to Direct "Twilight Zone" MovieSubmit Comment
Back in 1983, Warner Bros brought on directors Joe Dante (Gremlins), John Landis (Animal House), George Miller (Mad Max), Steven Spielberg to each direct a segment of "Twilight Zone: The Movie."

Now comes word that the studio is developing a second "Twilight Zone" and is already speaking to Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), Michael Bay (Transformers) and Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men). But unlike the 1983 version, the new film will have a single storyline and one director. David Yates (Harry Potter) and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) are also in the mix, but will likely not get the job.

The project is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, and written by Rand Ravich and Jason Rothenberg. Plot details are being kept a secret, but sources claim that the film will have a single storyline that touches on several episodes from Rod Serling's TV show.

Cuaron might be good.

Bay can't hold a frame for more than 1.5 seconds.

Nolan could do something interesting with the project, but won't likely sign on to direct.

It'll work, there are so many good episodes that are movie worthy but one story will have too much unnecessary filler. theyll find a way to f*ck it up so pass

I believe J.J. Abrams is a really big fan of 'The Twilight Zone', why not hire him.

They said it will not be based of TV episodes, but there was season 4 who was 1 hour long and has 1 single storyline.....

I see Putzman gave 50/50 a 9/10 rating.

Which means I have no need to ever see it.

Thx. Dustin, y'fag!

So, exactly why is Michael Bay being considered for this?
Ranger writes:

Because he put on sparkly lip gloss before blowing Nolan.

I didn't think about this 'til now but Nolan seems perfect for this.

That is, if they want to give audiences something they'll have to think about for days and have to re-watch a couple times. sh*t, I'm in.

Leo's producing and they question anyone other than Nolan? I'm pretty sure it's already been decided. Not to mention, twilight zone could probably do without a billion explosions every two seconds.

nolan already sh*t on batman... might as well sh*t on the twilight zone too

^^^This guy is a moron.

You remind me of the Star Wars nerds who argue heatedly about the smallest details of the film. If you think Nolan "ruined" Batman, you aren't paying attention to anything.

how can nolan and bay be both considered for a movie it would completely different depending on the director

Wonder if there is any chance they can convince Michael Bay to get in a helicopter and pull a Vic Morrow ?

If they were gonna do another Twilight Zone movie like the 1983 one with several directors I'd wanna see

David Fincher
Robert Rodriguez
Eli Roth
Edgar Wright

What do you guys think?
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:

If I remember "The Twilight Zone" correctly it was all about good actors, good script, suspensful, scary, interesting..which requires a good director capable of doing these things...

which rules out Michael Bay on all counts.

Nolan might be good on this but Alfonso Cuaron sounds the best out of those.

As mash said..JJ Abrams would be good too.

Why isn't John Landis being considered as a possible director for this movie?

"But unlike the 1983 version, the new film won't feature a helicopter crashing, decapitating a veteran actor and oriental boy and crushing an oriental girl."

Oh, right.
Ranger writes:

Didn't I just see Vic Morrow in a 'Heads n' Shoulders' commercial?

Too late?

As for the Asian kids killed on the set. That was nothing compared to all those little buggers that died building the US railroad.

The guy from The Crow died on set too right? What's his name? I could go to IMDB but that would take time away from 'wookie masturbation time'
